Aldi shoppers can pick up the summer drinks in stores now

Aldi customers can celebrate summer in style with two essentials to make refreshing cocktails, starting from £6.49 for 70cl.

It has slashed the price of its highly-praised Austin's Summer Punch - but shoppers must act fast to take advantage of this.

The tipple is available for £6.49, down from £7.99, from now until July 14 so shoppers can stock up now for the warmer weather.

The gin-based drink is made with a secret recipe blending flavours of warm spice and citrus fruits. The tipple can be used to make a delicious sweet summer cocktail.

Austin's Summer Punch was branded "better than Pimm's No.1" in a blind taste test by Which?, where it received a rating of 75 per cent on the Pimm's score of 70 per cent.

At the current price, it is also more than £10 cheaper than Pimm's No.1, which is on sale for £17.50 in Sainsbury's at the time of writing.

The supermarket giant recommended serving the punch in a tall glass with lemonade, ice and a slice of lemon, garnished with a sprig of mint.

This comes as Aldi predicts it will sell 2.2 million glasses of Austin's Summer Punch in just three weeks, between June 24 and July 14.

Those looking for other tasty summer drinks can pick up an affordable aperitif, perfect for making cocktails.

Its take on Aperol, Aldi's Aperini Superiore, has returned to shelves with a price tag of £6.49. Alcohol prices may vary in Scotland and Wales.

This comes as Aldi expands its "much-loved" range for customers who want to go alcohol-free this summer.

Shoppers can grab Aldi's 0% Pinot Grigio Blush and 0% Chardonnay from July 15, available from £2.99.

The supermarket said: "As the demand for delicious No and Low alternatives continues to grow, supermarket Aldi is expanding its offering with its first-ever zero per cent Pinot Grigio Blush, available in stores from July 15.

"With rosé lovers enjoying an average of 63 glasses of wine throughout the summer, Aldi has expanded its much-loved range with an alternative that offers all the refreshing flavours of traditional rosé, but without the alcohol.

"Available for just £2.99, Aldi’s new zero per cent Pinot Grigio Blush (75cl), is pale in colour and boasts notes of sweet strawberry, balanced with a dry finish which is perfect for summertime sipping."
