Affected customers have been told to keep the products out of the reach of children

Amazon and eBay shoppers have been warned that three children's products may be "cancer-causing" with the manufacturer claiming a chemical used to make the toys presents a "serious risk".

Pixel Party / Pixel Products Themed Latex Balloons sold via the e-commerce companies "present a serious chemical risk because they contain excess concentrations of n-nitrosamines", as reported by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS).

"Nitrosamines may cause cancer through ingestion or dermal exposure. A child could be exposed to them when touching or putting the product in the mouth.

"The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. The product has been recalled from end users.

"Owners should stop using the product immediately and keep them out of the reach of children. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress."

Another children's product has been found to pose a potential danger. Britons were warned that a baby and toddler toy from Home Bargains presents a choking risk.

This comes as a food recall has been extended as food sold at supermarkets, restaurants and convenience stores could cause a "medical emergency".

Britons who have a peanut allergy should not consume the products.
