Pippa Middleton and hedge fund executive James Matthews have secured planning permission for renovation work at their Berkshire estate, acquired for £15million in 2022.

The project involves removing a "modern lean-to extension added in the 1970s" from the historic property, which dates back to the seventh century.

Despite the heritage constraints on the listed manor itself, the couple have also obtained approval for contemporary leisure facilities.

Their plans include the installation of an AstroTurf tennis court and a swimming pool on the grounds.

In November, Pippa Middleton sparked fury from her neighbours after throwing a lavish 50th birthday party for her husband, James Matthews.

Music from the party could be heard by locals up to 1:30am in the morning, with one local branding the celebration “entitled”.

Another questioned why they could not have hosted a silent disco where users listen to music through wireless headphones rather than it being played out through speakers.

A Spitfire display took place in the afternoon with some locals “concerned” the noise would distrub their dogs.

One local told the Mail: “I thought this might happen when Pippa moved in. People with money.”

Another said regarding the loud music: “It's common courtesy and respect.

"There are a lot of very nice people who have a lot of money, but this is about entitlement.

“I'm a night owl and I do like parties but I'm also aware of others.

“They could easily have had a silent disco.”
