The storm impact in some areas could be 'significant' over the weekend
Tropical weather conditions are set to continue over the weekend with possible flash flooding and stormy downpours.
Britain is expected to enjoy more warm weather, however the storm impact in some areas could be "significant".
A Met Office forecaster said all areas across Britain will likely see some rain over the weekend.
Spokesperson for the Met Office, Grahame Madge said Britain could face some "flash flooding, large hail, frequent lightning and even squally winds".
It comes after 50mm to 100mm of rain fell on Thursday during the storms - equivalent of one month’s worth of rainfall.
Madge explained that over the weekend, "hot and humid" conditions are expected for those in south England.
While temperatures in the south east could reach 27C into the evening, causing some "unpleasant sleeping conditions" overnight.
Friday's forecast suggests the south and east will see warm and dry weather while rain strikes Scotland, northwest England and parts of the midlands into the evening.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"The heat and humidity of the last few days will give way to fresher conditions from tomorrow and into Saturday," Madge told The Independent.
"Over the weekend there will be some fine conditions – interspersed with spells of rain for some – but temperatures will be a few degrees lower than the last few days."
Friday will see "cloud and rain edging into the northwest" while it will be "mostly dry elsewhere with sunny spells" and a "few heavy showers in the east".
In London, temperatures will top 28C while the southwest will set to peak at 20C and Scotland at 18C.
