Spain tourist ban: Britons face being blacklisted from Balearic islands under strict new rules
GETTY
New rules could see Britons banned from a popular holiday destination
British tourists are at risk of being banned from the Balearic Islands, if extreme proposals were to go ahead.
Britons who break rules could be blacklisted and not able to return to the country for a certain period of time.
This follows a law of excesses that outlaws drunken and bad behaviour in some parts of Spain.
The Balearic government passed the law in January 2020 to act "against tourism of excesses and for the improvement of quality in tourist zones".
The proposals could change current laws

It was introduced to fight against anti-social behaviour caused by excessive alcohol consumption.
Those who break the current law could get staggering fines of up to £50,000.
It is thought that updates will be made to the current law, with extreme measures not being ruled out.
This could include new and more severe punishments, such as a ban on those who break the law.
The Head of Tourism Jaume Bauza for the islands spoke about the changes and suggested tougher bans would be considered.
The official was asked if offenders could be sent from the islands and banned from returning for a certain time.
He said: "I've expressed the master lines and nothing's being ruled out or confirmed at this stage."
This follows travel warnings that have been shared for anyone visiting Spain.
