The two passengers' disagreement over a seat resulted in a physical fight and a two-hour delay

A fight broke out between two passengers on a Ryanair plane after a “row over window seat”, which resulted in a two-hour delay.

The two male passengers got in an altercation over seats yesterday, after one refused to let the other pass through the aisle to get to his seat.

Passengers on the Malta to Stansted flight were forced to intervene to stop the fighting between the pair.

A witness said: "The British man wouldn't let the American man pass through to get to his window seat and then some words and swears were exchanged before a scuffle broke out.

"The flight was delayed two hours - everyone was annoyed."

The brawl was caught on camera, where the two men can be seen swinging at each other as passengers looked on in shock before intervening.

In the video, passengers can be heard moaning “we’ll never get home”.

Ryanair staff also stepped in to stop the fighting between the pair.

Ryanair released a statement on the incident: "Two passengers on this flight from Malta to Stansted (3 July) became disruptive ahead of take-off.

“Cabin crew diffused the situation before the aircraft departed safely for Stansted following a minor delay."

Last month, a drunk man was dragged off of a Ryanair plane by armed police.

Darren Gill, 33, was due to travel from Manchester to Spain with his partner and young son.

However, when his flight was delayed by eight hours, he got drunk at the airport before boarding the plane.

The construction worker then proceeded to drunkley heckle the cabin crew, which led to the armed police being called.

When the police arrived, he slurred: “Why am I being taken off, I’m not drunk?”

Gill resisted arrest and also headbutted a steel pole whilst being escorted off of the plane.

His defence lawyer Harold Smith said “he just foolishly consumed a lot of alcohol before the flight”.
