A weekend getaway is a great way to relax and there are plenty of places to visit in the UK, whether you're looking for a city break or a weekend at the beach.
Research has looked at destinations across the UK to gather the best breaks, with a Scottish city that "has it all" topping the list.
Glasgow came up top based on factors such as outdoor leisure, sports tourism, food and drink, shopping facilities and the arts and culture available to see.
All of these factors were considered and given a rating, and each UK spot received a score out of 10 in the research by Village Hotels.

Glasgow ranked the highest with an impressive score of 7.07 out of 10.

Glasgow took the crown as the best in the UK and it was the only Scottish destination on the list. All other top 10 contenders were locations in England.
The research said: "Glasgow has it all, whether you’re taking in the city skyline after a hike up the Glasgow Necropolis, or finally getting the bucket list ticked off by seeing that Van Gogh painting at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery.
"After hitting one of Glasgow’s 186 hiking trails, there are plenty of culinary delights to fuel you back up for the night ahead, with 222 five-star restaurants and two Michelin star establishments."
Glasgow was closely followed by midlands hotspot Birmingham and northern favourite Leeds with scores of 6.2 and 5.9 respectively.

This comes as the best beaches for sustainability around the world were shared in a new report.
Two beaches in the UK made the list and they both have "incredible views". Sandbanks and Saundersfoot beaches were both some of the best for sustainability, ranking in number one and three respectively.
Praia da Falésia in the Algarve was voted in the top spot in Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Best of the Best 2024.
