Galaxy Chromebook Go is worth £299
For a limited time, Samsung will send a Galaxy laptop for free to anyone to anyone who treats themselves to one of its newest Android smartphones. With an RRP of £299, this lightweight laptop is powered by ChromeOS — the desktop operating system offered by Google as an alternative to Windows 10.
The generous giveaway is available to anyone who treats themselves to a Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, or Galaxy Z Fold 6.
All of these flagship Android phones were released by Samsung this year and offer some of the fastest performance, best cameras, and latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) tricks available on Android.
Samsung isn't restricting its free Galaxy Chromebook Go offer to the Samsung Store. It's also available from a number of other retailers, including Amazon, AffordableMobiles.co.uk, AO.com, Argos, Currys, EE, Giff Gaff, John Lewis, Mobiles.co.uk, O2, Selfridges, Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Three, Very, Vodafone, and many more.
These retailers all offer their own perks. For example, Prime members will enjoy next-day delivery at no extra cost on Amazon, Very offers a number of repayment plans, AO.com has its own membership scheme, and Mobiles.co.uk has exclusive plans with networks like Three and O2 for further discounts.
Whichever one you decide to pick ...just remember to submit a claim for your free Galaxy Chromebook Go within 30-days of your purchase using this online form.
The promotion runs between August 23 to October 3, 2024, Samsung has confirmed, so there's still time if you're currently in a mobile contract that needs to wrap-up before you upgrade to the latest Android handsets.
Unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has an expansive, tablet-like 7.6-inch AMOLED display with an improved peak brightness of 2,600nits
SAMSUNG PRESS OFFICEWhat's the Galaxy Chromebook Go like?
This nifty notebook comes equipped with a spill-resistant keyboard, so it can survive an accidental coffee spill — or two. Samsung says it'll last up to 12 hours on a single charge, that should be more than enough to work all-day without the need to hunt for a plug. When it comes time to recharge, the Galaxy Chromebook Go uses the same USB-C cable as Samsung's line-up of Android smartphones, so you'll only need to pack a single cable on any trips.
It boasts a 14-inch screen, a memory card slot, 3.5mm headphone port. Galaxy Chromebook Go can pair with your Android phone, bringing your text messages and notifications onto the laptop — so there's no need to juggle two devices.
Samsung has equipped the laptop with Wi-Fi 6, which offers faster and more reliable internet. It's available to purchase from the Samsung Store, and also comes with a 4G-powered variant too. But of course, Samsung will send out this Chromebook Go for freeto anyone who upgrades to its Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, or Galaxy S24 Ultra — a much better offer.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, pictured in the newly-launched Mint colour, packs a faster processor, larger battery, flagship-quality cameras, and a swathe of AI tricks
SAMSUNG PRESS OFFICEThe most affordable Samsung Galaxy phone eligible for the offer is Galaxy S24, which starts from £699. It ships with a triple-camera set-up, pixel-packed Quad HD resolution and 120Hz high refresh rate, as well as the latest Galaxy AI tricks to manipulate photos and re-write text messages, emails, and documents.
These flagship smartphones start from £949 for the folding Galaxy Z Flip 6. Given that Samsung usually charges £299 for the Galaxy Chromebook Go, you'll be effectively paying £650 for this Android handset, which was announced last month in a blockbuster event in Paris.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is more expensive, starting from £1,799 with its larger 7.6-inch tablet-sized foldable screen. It comes equipped with a faster processor, coupled with a 1.6x larger vapour chamber to improve cooling during sustained performance so you can play graphics-intensive games for longer.
All of this means you'll be able to enjoy Ray Tracing — an advanced lighting technique usually reserved for the latest generation of consoles from PlayStation and Xbox — in mobile games.
Everything is protected with the latest toughened glass from Corning, known as Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which should make this model more durable than previous iterations.
Galaxy S24 Ultra, which costs £1,449, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 all come equipped with Galaxy AI — the latest Artificial Intelligence features from Samsung. It allows Android phone owners to translate incoming and outgoing calls on your device in real-time. This feature works across third-party apps, like WhatsApp and Zoom.
It can also translate conversations in real life, with the text appearing in real-time on-screen. Another AI trick — dubbed Note Assist — built into Samsung Notes will intelligently suggest summaries of longer handwritten and typed notes. Samsung will also automatically format notes as you write them, so you won't need to worry about a messy handwritten scrawl if you were in a hurry. Voice recordings within the Samsung Notes app can be transcribed, translated, and summarised into easy-to-read bullet points with AI too.
