EE Broadband subscribers unlock £20 discount every month on select SIM and phone plans too

  • EE has kickstarted its Black Friday sale across its full-fibre broadband plans
  • You can treble your download speeds and save £1 each month with some deals
  • Also, Full Fibre 300 Essentials has returned to its "best ever price" at £32.99
  • If your current contract isn't over, EE will pay up to £300 in early termination fees

EE has unleashed its Black Friday sale, with colossal savings across its full-fibre broadband packages, TV bundles, and must-have gadgets like the PlayStation 5 Pro and Nintendo Switch OLED Model. It comes a few weeks after EE became the first major UK broadband provider to offer a next-generation Wi-Fi 7 router to customers.

Looking to upgrade to a faster broadband connection? EE has cut costs across its full-fibre broadband packages so much that it's now cheaper to treble your download speeds and pay less every month.

Yes, really. While EE's the Full Fibre 50 Essentials plan, which has an average download speed of 51Mbps, costs £30.99 per month, the Black Friday savings on Full Fibre 150 Essentials, with its much faster 149Mbps download speeds, has slashed the monthly cost to £29.99 per month.

You'll spend £12 less over the course of a year to enjoy 3x faster download speeds. It's worth noting that 149Mbps is over 2x faster than the average UK household broadband speed, which Ofcom measured at 69Mbps last year. That means you'll have more than enough bandwidth to binge-watch the latest shows on Netflix, make video calls, backup photos to the cloud, download software updates, stream music and radio, and much more.

Black Friday: Upgrade to 150Mbps download speeds from EE

This Full Fibre 150 Essentials plan costs £1 less than EE's Full Fibre 50 Essentials, but boasts 3x faster download speeds. At twice the UK average household broadband speed, you can expect seamless streaming on Netflix and YouTube, as well as stutter-free video calls. EE has ditched the delivery cost and activation fee this Black Friday and will pay £300 to end your current contract if you want to switch ASAP

If you already have an EE SIM card inside your phone, switching to a broadband plan with EE will discount your monthly plan by £20 a month if you're paying for unlimited data — that's a £240 saving every year!

And if you're not quite at the end of your contract but don't want to miss these Black Friday deals, EE will pay £300 towards any early leaving charges.

How does that compare to the competition? TalkTalk charges £28 for its Full Fibre 150 plan, BT charges £29.99 for the same speeds, Plusnet charges £25.99 for its Full Fibre 145 plan, and Sky Broadband charges £27 for Full Fibre 100 — the closest comparable package on offer.

Like EE, all of these brands have waived a one-off set-up for Black Friday. And none of them require a landline phone if you don't want one.

Black Friday: Full Fibre 300 returns to EE's "best ever price"

With average download speeds of 308Mbps — that's 4x faster than the average home broadband connection in the UK — and a guaranteed speed of 150Mbps, this full-fibre internet bundle is ideal for those with a busy household. It will be able to handle multiple people streaming, making calls, uploading photos to the cloud, and more. $56.99 $32.99

For £32.99 per month, EE Full Fibre 300 Essentials doubles that broadband speed again.

It arrives with average download speeds of 308Mbps, provided you're living in an area that's been upgraded to the latest full-fibre infrastructure by Openreach. Brands like Sky, TalkTalk, and Plusnet all rely on cables maintained by this BT-owned firm, so if you're able to get similar speeds with any of those — then you'll be able to unlock this package from EE too.

EE says this Black Friday discount is its "best ever price" for the plan, which also comes with a guaranteed speed of 150Mbps.

EE will send its standard Smart Hub Plus, which is equipped with Wi-Fi 5, with the above broadband plans. If you want to upgrade to the all-singing, all-dancing new Wi-Fi 7 Smart Hub Pro, it'll cost an extra £10 per month.

However, EE includes this cutting-edge kit for free with its fastest broadband packages, dubbed Busiest Home Bundle (£64.99) and Made For Gamers (£74.99)which include 1.6Gbps speeds and other perks.

And the competition? Well, not all broadband providers offer a package with 300Mbps download speeds — with many skipping directly to 500Mbps. TalkTalk charges £35 for its Full Fibre 500 package, BT charges £32.99 for its Full Fibre 300 plan, Plusnet charges £28.99 for Full Fibre 300 speeds, and Sky Broadband charges just £29 for its Full Fibre 500 speeds.

If you're unsure about what broadband speed you need in your home. We've put together the average download speeds for an hour-long television show episode in Standard Definition (SD), roughly 450MB in size.

  • 69Mbps, the average broadband speed in the UK: 56 seconds
  • 150Mbps, the lowest speed available with most full-fibre packages: 24 seconds
  • 500Mbps, widely available from all full-fibre providers: 7 seconds
  • 1Gbps (or 1,000Mbps) is not available from all broadband companies: 4 seconds

Netflix recommends at least 5Mbps to watch its boxsets and movies in High Definition (HD), but that's the minimum requirement per stream. So busy households with multiple people streaming Netflix, Disney+, or YouTube on different screens will soon find themselves approaching the limit of 69Mbps — the UK average.

For those with a bevy of Wi-Fi enabled devices, like video doorbells, smart thermostats, and security cameras, and smartphones, tablets and PCs to back-up to the cloud and regularly update with new software ...it's worth investing in a faster connection to have the extra headroom offered by a full-fibre connection.

This marks the first time that EE's ultra-fast 1.6Gbps broadband plan with the bundled Wi-Fi 7 router has been included in a Black Friday sale. EE offers a speed guarantee of 1.3Gbps, if it fails to meet that threshold in the dame 30-day period then you'll be able to walk away with no penalty fees. With both plans with the fastest 1.6Gbps speeds (Busiest Home Bundle and Made For Gamers), EE says you'll benefit from upload speeds of 115Mbps — meaning you'll be able to upload files to the internet faster than most people in Britain are able to download.

With the new Wi-Fi router installed, EE says you'll benefit from gigabit-capable Wi-Fi throughout the home. If you're using both of the all-new EE hubs together together in your home, the BT-owned brand will include a minimum of 100Mbps connection in every room — with a money back guarantee.

This newest Wi-Fi standard works by using three different bands — 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz — to reduce interference from neighbours' Wi-Fi networks and increase capacity so busy households with dozens of devices can be evenly distributed across the wireless spectrum.

As standard, EE will mail-out one Wi-Fi 7 Smart Hub Pro and one Smart Wi-Fi Pro extender to every customer who upgrades to the Wi-Fi 7 standard. If you're struggling to achieve top-end speeds throughout your home, EE can offer a maximum of four Smart Wi-Fi Pro extenders.

EE isn't the only one kickstarting its Black Friday sale ahead of the day itself, which falls on November 29 this time around. iRobot, the brand behind Roomba robot vacuums, has cut prices by £700, lowest-ever Sky TV subscriptions, Ninja dropping its award-winning air fryers to below £70, Surfshark offering 4 months of its VPN for free, and Virgin Media giving away broadband and Disney+ until early 2025, to name just a few.
