This custom-designed television ships with a brighter QLED screen, crisp 4K Ultra HD resolution, Dolby Atmos sound and everything you need to stream live and on-demand content from Sky TV. The 55" model of the original Sky Glass was the best-selling Smart TV in the UK in 2023. In February 2025, the sequel to this bestseller was finally unveiled with an improved screen, more speakers, and three new colourways.
- Save £144 on brand-new Sky Glass Gen 2 + Ultimate TV bundle
- Watch Netflix via Essential TV bundle from Sky and UK price rise
Sky Glass Gen 2 keeps the same price as the original model, which made its debut back in late 2021.
Like the best Sky Stream deals, there's no need to affix a satellite dish to the outside of your home or organise an engineer visit since all you'll need is a Wi-Fi or ethernet connection to start watching. Unlike the Stream box, Sky Glass TV deals come with a £20 upfront cost.
There's a 31-day cooling off period where you can return the Glass TV and cancel your contract with Sky TV with no early termination penalty. However, Sky will charge a £25 courier charge to collect the 4K television.
With next-day delivery included at no cost, this time tomorrow, you could be watching everything included in the Sky Entertainment & Netflix bundle, from HBO shows like Chernobyl, Euphoria, Game of Thrones, The White Lotus and Succession, to original Sky TV series Brassic, Rob and Romesh vs... and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Sky Sports News, Sky Atlantic, Sky History, Comedy Central, MTV, and over 100 other channels are included.

Looking for the best Sky Glass Gen 2 deals? You're in the right place.
Sky Glass is available to buy outright, or via an interest-free repayment plan over 24- or 48-months. Since the next-generation Sky Glass Gen 2 was only announced on February 11, 2025 ...there's no discount available on this 4K TV yet. However, there are savings to be found when combining this flatscreen with a Sky TV bundle.
Following the introduction of Essential TV last year, adding Sky TV channels now starts from £15 a month.
That bundle includes over 100 live television channels, including Sky Atlantic. The latter is where you'll find the latest must-see dramas from HBO and Sky TV, such as House of the Dragon, The Last Of Us, The Day of the Jackal, Chernobyl, Euphoria, and The White Lotus, to name just a few. It also bundes a subscription to Netflix and discovery+.
Given the former has just increased prices in the UK — and Sky shows no sign of following suit — the value of this Sky TV has been bolstered overnight. Combined with the 43" Sky Glass Gen 2, you'll pay £29 a month.
But it's the all-singing, all-dancing Ultimate TV bundle where the savings are really unlocked. Usually £28 a month, this premium package of channels is currently on salefor £22 a month — saving an impressive £144 over a two-year contract.
This includes everything in the affordable Essential TV bundle, but adds an additional 40+ live television channels, including channels such as Sky Comedy, MTV, TLC, Sky Sports News, Sky History, National Geographic, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, U&Gold, and more.
All Sky Glass deals offer High Definition (HD) picture quality as standard — something that costs an extra £8 per month for Sky Q viewers, which remains the only set-top box from Sky TV that relies on a satellite dish.

What channels are included with Sky Glass?
The exact number of channels available to stream on Sky Glass Gen 2 depends on the bundle that you've added to your monthly subscription. The most affordable Essential TV package is a stripped-back selection designed to offer a taster of the exclusive shows available on Sky TV.
It bundles over 100 live television channels, including Sky Atlantic.
The latter is where you'll find the latest must-see dramas from HBO and Sky TV, such as House of the Dragon, The Last Of Us, The Day of the Jackal, Chernobyl, Euphoria, and The White Lotus, to name just a few. It also includes a subscription to Netflix (worth £5.99) and discovery+ (worth £3.99).
Shows like Squid Game and Stranger Things can be added to your Playlist alongside new shows airing each week. You'll also be able to stream a swathe of free-to-view channels.
If you want the complete selection of channels available from Sky TV — you'll need to upgrade to its Ultimate TV bundle. This bolsters the total number of channels to 140, including the likes of Sky Crime, Sky History, Sky Documentaries, Sky Max, Comedy Central, U&Gold, National Geographic, Sky Comedy, and dozens more. These channels also come with on-demand catalogues to watch too.
The number of channels available on Sky Glass depends on the bundle of channels you chose at checkout. The affordable Essential TV with a more limited selection of channels — but access to on-demand shows like Game Of Thrones, Euphoria, The White Lotus, Band of Brothers, The Day of the Jackal, The Wire, and more, or the comprehensive Ultimate TV bundle with more satellite channels via Wi-Fi, including MTV, Comedy Central, and many more
SKY TV PRESS OFFICE | GBNBoth Essential TV and Ultimate TV — as well as any additional bundles, like Sky Sport and Sky Cinema — are available as a 24-month subscription or a 31-day rolling contract.
The latter means you'll be able to switch between extras every month, or cancel a particular bundle of channels to save money — for example, if the sport you care about most is out of season. This means you'll be able to treat Sky TV like NOW, formerly NOW TV, and choose boxsets and channels à la carte.
Opting for a minimum contract term of two-years means you'll unlock a discount.
No matter which bundle you subscribe to — all Sky TV and broadband customers are able to sign up and join the Sky VIP loyalty scheme. You'll automatically enjoy a free film of your choice from the Sky Store.
Sky VIP users can apply for free tickets to film premieres and events, plus enjoy exclusive lounge access at concert venues across the country, including the OVO Arena in Wembley.
Sky Glass is designed to a one-stop-shop for everything you need to enjoy Sky TV, including the smarts to stream 100+ channels and exclusive boxsets, a Dolby Atmos soundbar, and QLED screen with support for HDR and 4K Ultra HD resolution
SKY TV PRESS OFFICE
What is Sky Glass?
Sky Glass is a significant departure from Sky TV's traditional line-up. Rather than a set-top box that plugs into your existing television and soundbar, Glass wants to be a one-stop-shop entertainment system.
Sky has packed its first custom-designed Smart TV with a QLED panel with a 4K Ultra HD resolution, support for HDR, and a Dolby Atmos soundbar. There's also a far-field microphone array for hands-free control — handy if you're always losing your remote control down the back of the sofa.
As a result of everything squeezed into this all-in-one package, Sky Glass has a boxier design than a traditional flatscreen. Also setting it apart from the competition is the array of colours, including Volcanic Grey, Arctic Silver, and Atlantic Blue. These ship with a colour-matched remote control and speaker cover.
Just like the plug-and-play Sky Stream box, Sky Glass Gen 2 drops the requirement for a satellite dish to enjoy everything on offer from Sky TV.
Using just Wi-Fi or a wired internet connection, you'll be able to stream live television channels in up to 4K Ultra HD quality. You can still pause and rewind live television — a feature pioneered by Sky+ in the early 00s.
Dropping the need for a satellite dish makes this new kit particularly advantageous for renters, or those living in high-rise apartments without a communal dish, as it eliminates the need for intrusive installations. Setup is as simple as plugging in a single power cable and following the on-screen instructions to connect Wi-Fi. And that's it.
When Sky Glass is delivered, all you'll need to do is connect the power cable, then follow the on-screen instructions to connect to a Wi-Fi network — and SkyOS will handle the rest. It's the reason you don't need to worry about organising a Sky TV engineer visit to get everything up-and-running
SKY TV PRESS OFFICEIt's this simplicity that ensure that Sky TV doesn't need to schedule an engineer appointment when you place an order. With next-day delivery available as standard across all Sky Glass TVs, this time tomorrow you could already be watching on your 4K QLED TV.
With the introduction of Glass, Sky created an entirely new software platform, dubbed SkyOS. As well as more modern user interface, the engineers did a truckload of work under-the-bonnet to ensure software updates could be deployed much faster than on Sky Q, which often langiushed without new streaming apps or regular features. It took seven years for Channel 4 to support that satellite box.
Sky regularly updates SkyOS with new designs, extra features, and voice commands related to some of the biggest shows. EntertainmentOS received over 300 updates in a single year in 2023.
One of the biggest shake-ups in the transition from the more traditional Sky Q box and the all-new Sky Glass is Playlist, which replaces My Recordings. Since there's no onboard storage built into Sky Glass TVs or Sky Stream, Playlist functions more like My List on Netflix.
When you add a show, documentary, or film to Playlist, it will be stored in the menu to be streamed at a later date. You can set-up individual profiles for everyone in your household, so that everyone gets their own Playlist. As soon as a new title is added, Sky Glass will automatically scour on-demand catalogues from all of your streamers to find previously aired episodes in case you want to catch up.
For example, if you add an episode of Grey's Anatomy on Sky Witness and you've signed into Disney+ on the set-top box — you'll find every episode ready to binge-watch in the menu.
Playlist brings together TV shows, documentaries, and films from the TV Guide, on-demand catalogue included with the Sky Entertainment bundle, and titles from Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, and others into a single list — that's automatically sorted into categories
SKY TV PRESS OFFICE
Since Playlist isn't simply recording upcoming shows from the TV Guide, there's no limit to how many shows can be added, since you're never going to run out of storage. There's no need to worry about clashes in the TV Guide either, you can record dozens of shows that will broadcast at the same time.
And it's not simply limited to Sky TV content either. If you're signed into streamers like Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Paramount+, and Disney+, you can add films and TV series exclsuive to these apps into Playlist too. EntertainmentOS software will use of this activity to intelligently suggest new shows, documentaries, and films based on your viewing habits from all of these services too.
The disadvantage of this approach? Since none of these shows, films, or fixtures are being physically recorded onto a spinning hard-drive — as happens with the older Sky Q box — catching-up on content listed in Playlist means you're at the mercy of the licence agreement with the streamers.
For example, while you can keep dozens of episodes of Match of the Day on the hard drive built into your Sky Q box, because of the unique agreement between the BBC and the Premier League, the previous episode will vanish as soon as the next instalment is broadcast or after a seven-day window, whichever comes first.
As such, you won't have more than a single episode of Match of the Day to catch-up on with Glass.
With Sky Live connected, you can watch shows, sports fixtures, and films at the same time as friends and family — anyone can pause the action for everyone, so you won't miss a thing and will see everyone's reactions in real-time. You can chat via the built-in microphones inside the Sky Live camera
SKY TV PRESS OFFICE
If you want to expand Sky Glass beyond a content consumption gadget, there's the optional Sky Live camera, which attaches magnetically to the top of the television. This 4K camera brings interactivity to the viewing experience, letting you host Zoom meetings from the comfort of the living room, with AI-powered technology ensuring you're always framed perfectly at the centre of the screen.
Sky Live also allows for shared viewing experiences, so friends and family across the country can watch shows or sporting events together in real-time, sharing reactions as if they were in the same room. Sky has also packed several motion-controlled games, as well as the at-home fitness software Mvmnt. This fitness app, co-developed with leading experts, even provides real-time feedback on your exercise form.
What broadband speed do you need for Sky Glass TVs?
- 25Mbps to watch Sky Glass in HD
- 30Mbps to watch Sky Glass in 4K UHD
Since everything is beamed to your Sky Glass box via Wi-Fi or ethernet, you'll need a decent internet connection to watch live and on-demand television. The minimum requirement for Sky Glass is 25Mbps — this is largely due to the fact that all live television and on-demand boxsets offered with the Glass TV are availabe in 1080p High Definition as standard.
The average broadband speed nationwide, as measured by Ofcom, sits at 69Mbps, so most people should have enough bandwidth to watch Sky Stream in HD. If you want to stream in 4K Ultra HD, the minimum speed requirement increases to 30Mbps.
Sky TV recommends a minimum broadband speed of 30Mbps if you want to add multi-room support with an Sky Stream puck for another television in your house. This is will increase for each Stream puck you add to other rooms.
Until May 2023, Sky recommended a minimum download speed of just 11Mbps for Sky Stream, rising to 25Mbps for 4K UHD picture quality. However, the broadcaster decided to change these recommended speeds in the small print of its website last year. It's unclear why the change was made.
What happens to Sky Glass TV if you cancel Sky?
Since your Smart TV is completely centred around Sky TV, you're probably wondering what happens if you decide to ditch your Sky Entertainment package to save money.
The good news is that Glass Gen 2 will continue to work as a normal TV.
Yes, without an ongoing Sky TV subscription, Sky Glass will work like a normal Smart TV. Sky Glass is fitted with a TV aerial input, so you can connect it like any Freeview-powered Smart TV. This will unlock all of the same free-to-air channels, which can be accessed from the same menu.
You'll still benefit from the latest software updates from Sky TV and can use streamers like Disney+, ITVX, BBC iPlayer, Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV+, and others by signing in with your existing logins. Sky Glass has 3x HDMI inputs, so you can switch to a games console or other standalone kit... like any television.
Does Sky Glass work without internet?
Exactly like those who decide to scrap their monthly subscription to Essential TV or Ultimate TV, if you lose internet in your home, Sky Glass will continue to work, but you'll be restricted to the live channels and radio transmitted over the back-up TV aerial input. Without an aerial connected, Sky Glass won't be able to stream live or on-demand content without an active Wi-Fi or wired broadband connection.
