Serena Williams has revealed that she is recovering well after she underwent surgery to remove a cyst which was 'the size of a grapefruit' on her neck.
Having first discovered the lump on her neck in May, Williams opted against getting it removed.
But the lump only got larger and larger, to the point where it was causing the tennis legend severe problems.
With no sign of the cyst receding, the 43-year-old decided to go under the knife to have it out once and for all.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion documented her health updates on social media site TikTok, captioning the post: "Back in May I found a lump showing on my neck."
She vlogged: "I immediately went to the doc got a MRI and was told I have a brachial cyst.
"Have you ever heard of that? They said I don’t need to get it removed if I don’t want. So I did not get it but it kept growing."
Despite being given the all-clear, she was eventually advised to have the cyst removed.
She added: "I decided to get more test and 3 test and one biopsy later everything is still negative but doctors advised I get it removed asap because it was the size of a small grapefruit and it could get infected or worse leak.
"So this is me removing it. I am feelimg so grateful, and fortunate everything worked out, and most of all I’m healthy."
But there was no keeping Williams down for long, who revealed she was out shopping with her daughter soon after recovering from the operation.
"I still made it to American doll with Olympia as promised. And yes all is ok," she said.
A later post saw her filming outside the shop with her daughter, saying: "Alright, we are at American Doll.

Part of the operation includes draining the cyst and Williams admitted that she struggled a bit with the pain.

"Yikes it kind of hurt coming out," she said. "Obviously I went under for it but they had to put a drain in it because it was so much but everything worked out."
Williams is one of the greatest female tennis players of all time and no one has more Grand Slam titles than her in the Open era.
In 2022, she retired from the sport after the US Open when she lost to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round, which turned out to be her last match.
