The first Grand Slam of 2025 will kick off on January 12

Andy Murray has revealed he's got no issue with Novak Djokovic potentially throwing some temper tantrums as the duo prepare to work together at the Australian Open.

The first Grand Slam of the year is creeping closer, with Djokovic hoping to win the major for the 11th time in his career.

Last year was a testing one for the Serb, who was unable to add to his Grand Slam collection.

Though he won Olympic gold in Paris, some have started to dismiss the veteran as a faded force.

Djokovic has brought in Murray as he bids to win a historic 25th Grand Slam title that would move him ahead of Margaret Court.

And the British tennis icon has now made it clear he's got no issue with how Djokovic behaves behind the scenes.

"Of course I've thought about it," he said, per the Daily Mail, when asked about Djokovic's capacity for throwing a strop.

"I would think I'd be one of the people that would understand that side of things.

"I know it's not easy out there. It's stressful and at times he's going to vent towards his team and his box.

"Providing he's giving his best effort and trying as hard as he can, I'm absolutely fine with him expressing himself how he wants."

Murray was no stranger to losing his cool during his own tennis career.

And he feels that his own experiences bode well as he looks to help Djokovic secure glory Down Under.

"In many ways we are quite similar characters so I would hope I would empathise with him on the court," he continued.

"You have to be very careful with emotional players, stopping them from feeling like they're able to (vent) if they need to: sometimes suppressing everything is not the right way - the description often of how players look in those moments is that they look very flat and that's not what you want.

"So there's a balance too and like I said, as long as he's giving his best effort and trying his hardest, I'm absolutely here for all of that."

Some have criticised Djokovic's decision to bring in Murray.

"In all the time I've been on tour, I haven't seen that from any of the best players in the world.

"I've seen it from some of the lower ranked players and that's one of the reasons why they're not there. The best players take it seriously.

"(Coaching) is not always easy. It's demanding but it's extremely rewarding when you make a breakthrough in a practice and something starts to feel a little bit better."
