The PSG star is being offered big money to move to the Middle East

Saudi Arabia plan on spending £17billion on transfers between now and 2023, it has been claimed.

The Middle-Eastern country are eager to land Kylian Mbappe, with Al Hilal seeing a huge £259million bid for the 24-year-old accepted by PSG.

While there's no guarantee the France international will make the move, Saudi don't plan on relenting.

According to CBS Sports, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Sport will provide £17bn for Saudi Pro League transfers over the next seven years.

Mbappe is obviously the league's No 1 priority for the time being.

The PSG star is being offered a massive £600million to play in the Pro League for just one year.

If he accepts Al-Hilal's offer to join then he'll become the best-paid player in football history.

It would also make him the highest-paid sports star of all-time, too.

The Saudi top flight apparently have three other signings in mind as they look to send more shockwaves around world football.

Luka Modric is being lined up for a move, despite the Croatia international recently signing a new contract with Real Madrid.

The veteran has been with Los Blancos ever since joining from Tottenham in 2012.

And Modric could end up pursuing a new challenge elsewhere, having won five Champions League titles during his stint at the Bernabeu.

It's also said Neymar is a target, too.

The Brazil international has blown hot and cold ever since his move to PSG from Barcelona back in 2017.

While Neymar is wanted by Saudi clubs, however, the Samba star recently insisted he'd be staying put.

"I hope to play this season at PSG, I have a contract with Paris. So far, no one has told me anything," he said.

"I am calm, even if there is not much love between the supporters and the player.

"I will be there with or without love."

On his mission to overcome his injury problems, Neymar added: "The process was very painful and it is very difficult, but I am trying to come back well.

"Obviously, winning is always part of the objectives, but I want to play well again, that's the first thing."

Another star Saudi are hoping to attract is Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international dazzled for Barcelona last season, scoring 33 goals from 46 appearances.

However, unlike Mbappe, Neymar and Modric, any potential deal for Lewandowski is likely to take place next year instead.

When asked about his future last month, the former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund star made his intentions clear.

"There is no issue. So I don't think about it, because why should I think about it if there is no issue?" he said.

"Especially because my contract [with Barca] still runs for a while.

"I see what is happening [in Saudi Arabia] but it doesn't worry me, because I have other priorities at the moment."

One player who is set to move to Saudi is Jordan Henderson.

The England skipper is poised to leave Liverpool having won every major trophy during his time at Anfield.
