The Rocket beat Barry Hawkins on Thursday

Snooker icon Ronnie O'Sullivan has condemned Alexandra Palace, labelling the venue 'disgusting, dirty, cold and freezing'.

The Rocket made the semi-finals of the Masters for the 15th time with a 6-3 victory over Barry Hawkins on Thursday afternoon.

O'Sullivan is an Ally Pally legend, having lit up the iconic venue over the years.

But the 48-year-old has now dubbed it 'disgusting, dirty, cold and freezing' in a blistering attack.

Wearing a black coat in the aftermath of his triumph, O'Sullivan raged: “I just don’t like this place, I find it disgusting.

“Everywhere is dirty, cold, I’m freezing. I have to sit here in my coat.

“Everywhere you go, you’re going through car parks, there are bins.

“I don’t know if you’ve seen up there, there’s food and stuff and it makes me feel ill to be honest with you."

O'Sullivan then proceeded to admit that cleanliness was a big thing for him.

“I’m a clean freak. When I come here, it gives me the heebie-jeebies and I can’t wait to get out of here," he added.

"I’m sorry, that’s just how I feel.”

O'Sullivan also admitted that constant travelling had taken a toll on him, revealing he's not playing at the peak of his powers at the current moment in time.

"Maybe I've played a lot since September," he confessed.

"For me I've played a lot, travelled a lot. I've played a lot.

"Backwards and forwards from China, which takes it out of you.

"Trying to do everything can be hard and I think you can, especially at my age, it can take a little bit out of you.

"I don't know, I'm just trying to give you answers here, I still don't know the answer."

O'Sullivan has been playing with a cold, too, though he admitted he thinks many other people in the UK are suffering from illness.

"I feel alright," he stated.

"I think like everybody else in this country I've had a cold for about four weeks, lost my hearing as well in China.

"So not been too well but I think everybody's been like that."

O'Sullivan will now play Shaun Murphy in the next round of the competition.

Murphy beat Jack Lisowski to book his place in the last four.

Lisowski admitted he 'wasn't at the races as he slumped to defeat'.
