Luke Littler is already making waves on his first year on the senior PDC Tour.

Luke Littler has called his historic win at the Bahrain Masters earlier this year nothing more than "match practice" for the Premier League.

The 17-year-old has taken the darts world by storm ever since his emergence at the World Darts Championship.

After taking a few weeks off, Littler made his World Series of Darts debut in Bahrain where he first went up against Man Lok Leung.

He then hit a nine-darter against defending World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall before beating Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen to win the Bahrain event.

It was only the second time a nine-darter had been thrown in the World Series and he became the youngest player to achieve the feat on live television.

He rarely looked under threat of losing throughout the whole event and was bashful after lifting his first senior darts trophy.

Littler followed that up by reaching another World Series final at the Dutch Masters, only for Van Gerwen to get his revenge.

For most people, winning a Masters event in a field featuring six different world champions would be the pinnacle of their careers.

However, the teenage darts sensation has played down his achievements in the World Series by branding them nothing more than "match practice" for the Premier League.

''It was good to win on my debut (in Bahrain) and obviously be the youngest person to hit a nine-darter as well," he told the PA.

"But overall it was just match practice for the Premier League, as was Holland.

''Now we are kicking on with the Premier League.

"I know I have got the ability to beat the best. I am just happy with how I have been playing.

"The worlds was a big step up but I have proved I can play with the best and that is why I have got my shot in the Premier League."

Littler made his Premier League debut last week where he defeated world champion Luke Humphries in the first round.

Michael Smith proved too much for Littler in the semi-final, who missed his one chance at match dart.

The eight-player field are back in action on Thursday evening for the second Premier League night in Berlin.

Littler currently sits third in the table with two points after making it through to the semi-final stage in Cardiff.
