Darts legend Bobby George labels Luke Littler 'just unbelivable' after semi-final win

Darts legend Bobby George has praised 'sporting hero' Luke Littler - but warned the youngster about complacency ahead of tonight's final showdown with Luke Humphries.

Littler beat Rob Cross at the PDC World Darts Championship to secure his place in the final last night after a 'marvelous' game.

On GBNews George praised: "He played excellent tonight. He had a 106 average which is very good.

"He was just unbelievable. It is absolutely marvellous reach the final. His whole life has been darts. So he's got his dream."

He added: "He absolutely can win, he didn't just walk in to the PDC world darts. He was actually the Junior World champion.

"He's got to keep his feet on the ground and make sure he doesn't get too big headed, a bit cocky and knocked off his perch."

Littler played his first world tournament, won 6-2 and will face Luke Humphries in the final.

Talking to Sky sports the finalist said: ""It is crazy to even think I am in the final on my debut. I was happy to win one game and now I can go all the way."

"It's not easy. You are playing Rob, he is a world champion who won on debut. I've got no words."

Asking how he will prepare for tonights final he said: "I'll be doing what I've been doing. In the morning I'll go for my ham and cheese omelette and then come here, have a pizza and then prep on the board. That is what I've done every day."

On Littler, Humphries said: "I've seen the way he's played many, many times but when you come on this stage it can be a lot tougher but he's just proved that he's got a lot of bottle.

"Nothing is going to phase him. I'm probably going to have to play the game of my life.

"I've got an uphill task and hopefully we can give the people one of the best world finals ever seen."

Littler is now just one win away from becoming a world champion at the age of 16, joining an illustrious list of sports stars to achieve that feat as teenagers in their respective fields.

Boris Becker won his first Wimbledon title at the age of 17, Martina Hingis achieved the same feat as a 16-year-old while Tom Daley hit the headlines when he won World Diving Championship gold aged just 15.

The World Darts Championship will be live on Sky Sports at 7:30pm this evening.
