The Briton is set to play doubles with Dan Evans tonight as he targets a third gold medal of his career

Laura Robson has revealed Andy Murray has succeeded in 'tracking down' a member of Liechtenstein's Olympics team out in Paris.

Murray is set to play with Dan Evans tonight, with the duo due to lock horns with Belgian pair Joran Vliegen and Sander Gillé.

Both Team GB stars were able to prolong their Olympics dream on Sunday, winning a thriller against Kei Nishikori and Taro Daniel to make the second round.

Robson, speaking to Eurosport, has revealed Murray is obsessed with Olympic pins.

And she's revealed the former world No 1 has now succeeded in getting one off a member of Liechtenstein's team for the games.

"He’s taking it very seriously. He didn’t do it in 2012 but then followed it up at Rio and Tokyo, he went hard," she said.

"In the athlete’s village, he’s trying to find the most niche country, the smallest country.

"His one for this week was a guy… there’s one athlete from Liechtenstein and he was searching the village, high and low, to try and find this poor man.

"He tracked him down, he’s got it, and it was like he had won the Olympic gold.

"Honestly, he came in and was showing everyone, 'Look what I’ve got! It’s a bit unfair in a way because it is a competition and because he’s Andy Murray, everyone wants to give him a pin.

"He’s got an unfair [advantage], it’s a little unfair!"

Murray is playing in his last tournament as a tennis player, with the 37-year-old confirming he'd be retiring prior to the Olympics starting.

It has been a memorable tournament for the Briton over the years, the setting for some of his biggest wins.

In 2012, Murray locked horns with Roger Federer in the final of the Olympics - just weeks after being beaten by the Swiss maestro at Wimbledon.

And the Glasgow-born star produced a tennis masterclass to win 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 and consign Federer to defeat.

Four years later, in Rio, Murray repeated the feat.

He beat Juan Martin del Potro to win his second Olympic singles gold, something no other tennis player in history has done.

Speaking earlier this week, Murray admitted that his gold in 2012 was the pinnacle of his career.

“Winning the gold medal and obviously the silver in London is probably a big highlight," he said. "Obviously Wimbledon was amazing but the way I felt that week [in London] meant the most to me.

“I don’t always like it on the court, I do find competing very stressful.

“But that week, I was so happy. I really enjoyed the whole week.

“It is once in a lifetime to compete in an Olympics at home, and you know you’re not going to get that opportunity again. Certainly made the most of it.

“I was lucky to win a couple of medals and we were really close to getting gold in the mixed as well.

“I did feel good going into that whole week I played. I felt like I was playing really, really well. I wasn’t certainly sure I would win the final against Federer, but it was one of the best matches I’ve ever played to be honest.

“Everything seemed to click that week. I don't know why that was the case. But I wish I could have played like that more often.”
