Moises Caicedo is having second thoughts about a move to Liverpool despite the Merseyside giants agreeing a huge £110million deal with Brighton.
The Ecuador international is a top target for Jurgen Klopp, who wants the midfielder to reunite with former Brighton team-mate Alexis Mac Allister.
Yet Sky Sports say the 21-year-old is having second thoughts about a potential move to Liverpool in a surprising development.
The player had been expected to join Chelsea and it's claimed the Brighton star could yet end up moving to the west London giants, in what would be a dramatic development.

Chelsea have spent all summer long pursuing a deal for Caicedo.
But they've been reluctant to pay over the odds and, with three bids turned down so far, will have work to do.
Brighton are likely to demand the same £110m fee from Mauricio Pochettino's side that Liverpool are willing to pay.
Should either side end up missing out, then they're likely to try and raid Southampton for midfielder Romeo Lavia.
Both clubs have had offers for the player turned down so far this summer and the youngster is willing to leave St Mary's following the Saints' relegation to the Championship last season.
Regarding Caicedo, Klopp was asked about the Brighton star at a press conference on Friday morning.
And the German confirmed a fee had been agreed, saying: "The fee with the club is agreed. We will see what that means.
"We aren't a club with endless resources and we didn't expect a couple of things to happen this summer.
"Then it happened."
When asked if Caicedo could have a medical today, he added: "I cannot say. I don't know."
Liverpool face off against Chelsea in their opening Premier League fixture on Sunday.
And Klopp looked ahead to that game, insisting his side must be at their best if they're to claim all three points.
"We prepared the Chelsea game for a while. There is no distraction," he said.
"I think it is two talented football teams, we watched Chelsea on their tour and there were a lot of good things.
"That's what we have to prepare for. It's their first game and they will want to show up.
"They have really good options offensively. It's the first competitive game for us and we really want to go for it, but have to see how it goes.
"I think we should give it a proper try."
Regarding Caicedo, Brighton CEO Paul Barber had previously hinted he would try and rebuff any approaches for the midfielder.
Speaking recently, he said: "For a young player like Moises at 21, he’s probably one of the best midfield players in the world already at his age, and we’ve had a fantastic time working with him.
"And we want it to continue, we’ve got him under a long contract.

"We’re also realistic to know there is interest in him.
"As a young man, that interest is inevitably going to have an impact on your thought process and unsettle you a little bit.
"We understand that. But for now, he’s a Brighton player, he’s under contract.
"We expect him to work hard, prepare for the new season and we’ll see what happens as the window goes on.”
