Mason Greenwood confirmation announcement 'coming after England Women's World Cup final'

The Manchester United striker hasn't played for the club since January 2022
Manchester United reportedly plan on confirming Mason Greenwood's return after England's Women's World Cup final match against Spain.
On Wednesday, it emerged that the Red Devils were in the final stages of finalising the striker's return.
Greenwood was arrested in January 2022, with the striker then denying charges of attempted rape and assault.
Those same charges were dropped against him in February this year, with United then confirming they were conducting an investigation.

The matter is now nearly closed.
Greenwood is reportedly set to return to action at United, over 18 months after he last kicked a ball for the club.
And The Sun say the club plan on confirming Greenwood's return after England lock horns with Spain in the final of the Women's World Cup on Sunday.
An insider is quoted as saying: "This has been a long and difficult process for everyone involved, but it's nearing the end.
"The internal investigation is over and Mason is likely to be reinstated at Old Trafford.
"He's made no secret of his desire to to get back to doing what he does best.
"He's already got the backing of the players and manager Erik ten Hag. He's just waiting for the green light.
"The club will communicate its decision as early as Tuesday after the women's World Cup final."
England are due to battle with Spain after beating Australia in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Sam Kerr scored for the Matildas but goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo sent the Lionesses through.
The report says Greenwood was reluctant to leave United for a foreign team.
He's recently become a father and, therefore, is unwilling to relocate.
And United are supposedly considering rehabilitating the player via their under-23s and reserves team.
Meanwhile, the club released a statement saying the club have conducted a 'thorough' investigation into Greenwood - and they had evidence that 'was not in the public domain'.
“Following the dropping of all charges against Mason Greenwood in February 2023, Manchester United has conducted a thorough investigation into the allegations made against him," it read.
“This has drawn on extensive evidence and context, not in the public domain, and we have heard from numerous people with direct involvement or knowledge of the case.
“Throughout this process, the welfare and perspective of the alleged victim has been central to the club’s inquiries, and we respect her right to lifelong anonymity.
“We also have responsibilities to Mason as an employee, as a young person who has been with the club since the age of seven, and as a new father with a partner.
“The fact-finding phase of our investigation is now complete, and we are in the final stages of making a decision on Mason’s future.
“Contrary to media speculation, that decision has not yet been made and is currently the subject of intensive internal deliberation. Responsibility ultimately rests with the Chief Executive Officer [Richard Arnold].

“Once made, the decision will be communicated and explained to the club’s internal and external stakeholders.
“This has been a difficult case for everyone associated with Manchester United, and we understand the strong opinions it has provoked based on the partial evidence in the public domain.
"We ask for patience as we work through the final stages of this carefully considered process.”
