The defending champions were held by their rivals on Saturday
Liverpool held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in Saturday's Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
Erling Haaland put the hosts ahead in the 27th minute, with the Norway international finishing expertly after good work from Nathan Ake.
Liverpool sought an equaliser, with Darwin Nunez spurning a couple of good chances, and ultimately got the goal they were looking for following a powerful effort from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 80th minute.
GB News now takes a look at four things we learned from the match.

Just over a year ago, fans were debating whether Haaland or Nunez would be the signing of the summer.
Fast-forward to now and it's not even being contested any longer.
That's not to say Nunez is bad. He isn't. When the confidence is flowing he's tough to stop and there's plenty to suggest he'll be a Liverpool hit for many years to come.
Yet he's not remotely close to Haaland. In fairness, nobody is.
The Norway international scored his 50th Premier League goal from just 48 appearances, breaking yet another record in the process.
If Nunez wants to become world-class in the years ahead, he'd do well to learn from the best forward on the planet right now. As it stands, the difference of No 9s could be what swings the title pendulum City's way - instead of Liverpool's.
Alisson Becker rarely puts a foot wrong for Liverpool.
However, he endured a chastening day at the office against City with his error in the first half paving the way for the hosts to score.
Alisson had already survived one mistake, with Phil Foden failing to capitalise during the early stages of the match.
Yet he wasn't lucky a second time around, with his poor kick allowing City to mount yet another attack.
Ake slotted in Haaland, who then did the rest, but Alisson's poor kick up field came back to bite him.
His blushes were spared, however, when Alexander-Arnold drew Liverpool level to earn a point in the 80th minute.
Before the game, it emerged Jack Grealish would be missing for City due to illness.
However, that's not an issue for City when they have the dazzling Jeremy Doku in their ranks.
The Belgium international wasn't able to score or assist this time around, having performed excellently prior to the recent international break.
Yet Doku was a constant threat and a thorn in Liverpool's side, with his searing speed causing them problems.
Grealish will struggle to get back into the side when he's available again, with Doku going from strength to strength since his summer arrival.
Neither City or Liverpool were at their best during the match at the Etihad Stadium, with recent international matches potentially impacting the proceedings.
But Liverpool certainly did enough to show they can challenge their rivals for the Premier League title this season.
Most teams would have buckled when playing against Pep Guardiola's side, who remain the side to beat.
Yet Liverpool showed why Klopp calls them 'mentality monsters' by digging in to earn a draw and prevent their opponents from scoring a second goal.
The title race has many weeks left to run, of course.
