The Red Devils scraped their way to a first Champions League victory of the season
Jude Bellingham has congratulated Harry Maguire after the Manchester United star netted the winner against Copenhagen on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils were lacklustre and turgid during the Champions League match at Old Trafford.
But Maguire scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute, with the centre-back heading home following a brilliant delivery from Christian Eriksen.
For United, the result brings hope.
After defeats to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray already this season, it was a match they simply had to win.
United now have renewed hope of making the knockout stages of the competition and reigniting their season in the process.
Maguire has been a player widely ridiculed in recent times, having previously fallen out of favour with manager Erik ten Hag.
However, the 30-year-old was the hero for his side on a night where United paid tribute to club legend Sir Bobby Charlton - who passed away on Saturday.
As for Bellingham, the midfielder scored for Real Madrid in their 2-1 win over Braga.
But he still found time to go on social media and congratulate Maguire for his United heroics.
The 20-year-old said: "Love to see it H."
Maguire and Bellingham both play for England together and recently helped the Three Lions qualify for next summer's European Championships.
Many have scrutinised Gareth Southgate for regularly picking Maguire, despite his issues at United.
Yet he seems to be turning a corner and that will represent a boost for both club and country.
United were a far cry from their swashbuckling best, making hard work of Copenhagen as they secured all three points.
And Maguire wasn't the only hero for Ten Hag's side.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana has toiled ever since his summer move from Inter Milan, dropping several clangers so far.
But the Cameroon international enjoyed his best match as a United player to date, making a dramatic penalty save in the last minute to deny Jordan Larsson.
Maguire praised Onana after the game, saying: “Playing for this club, there's ups and downs and when you win everybody's on top of the world, and when you lose there's a crisis and it's always someone's fault.
"Andre is a big personality and he'll get used to it.
“He's going to be a big player for this club.
"It's a short career that he’s had until now and of course there’s been a lot of scrutiny.
"But we've been giving him far too much to deal with as a defence.
“So I know it's a big moment for him. And it’s not only a penalty save, it's a really high-standard penalty save.

United are next in action against fierce rivals Manchester City on Sunday (3.30pm).
And Maguire feels he's coming good for the Red Devils at the right time.

"It's been tough for me not playing as much as I have done it throughout my career. So it's been different.
"But this is football and playing for the big clubs, you have big competition.
"We have a lot of competition at centre-back and some top-quality players – I do believe that.
"So I know it's a really important part of the season for me, but it's only a start.
"I'm ready now to kick on to help the team and I'm looking forward to Sunday.”
