The striker left north London for Germany back in the summer

Harry Kane is currently in the spotlight ahead of Bayern Munich's Champions League clash with Manchester United on Wednesday evening.

And, prior to that clash, it's emerged Tottenham have a buy-back clause on their former striker.

Kane left north London for Bavaria last month in a huge transfer deal worth at least £100million.

Daniel Levy initially wanted to keep the 30-year-old but, with the player eager to win trophies in the latter stages of his career, reluctantly agreed to a deal.

Levy has now confirmed Tottenham have a buy-back clause when it comes to Kane, meaning a return for the England international can't be ruled out.

The Spurs supremo confirmed this at a fan forum on Tuesday, speaking alongside manager Ange Postecoglou, new men’s captain Heung-min Son, women's head coach Robert Vilahamn and captain Bethany England.

Levy was initially reluctant to answer a question from a fan about a Kane buy-back clause.

When pushed by host Nihal Arthanayake, however, he relented and said: "Of course." It has since transpired that there's no fixed price, however, and that Tottenham would have first refusal if Kane was to express a desire to leave Bayern behind.

What bodes well for Tottenham is Kane has already hinted he'd be open to going back.

After joining Bayern he sent a message to Spurs supporters and said: “It’s not a goodbye because you never know how things pan out in the future, but it’s a thank you and I’ll see you soon.”

Reports at the time of Kane's move to Germany said Thomas Tuchel had promised the striker he could return to the Premier League at a later date.

For now, however, the striker's priority is Bayern and helping the club win all major trophies available.

Kane is set to start for the Bundesliga giants when they lock horns with Manchester United.

And speaking ahead of his side's Champions League opener, Kane insisted he'd made the right choice to move abroad.

"Obviously, over the summer I know there were some talks between a few clubs in the background, but Bayern were a team I was really interested and excited by," he said.

"There were not too many other discussions once they came in. It was between them and Tottenham to talk and then the deal got done.

"My focus is on here. Manchester United are a great club, a really big club as well.

"I just decided to come here and am really happy I have."

Kane also warned Bayern about complacency with United out of sorts these days.

"United have been going through a tough spell recently, but sometimes that can be really dangerous," he said.

"They are looking for a big response and we need to be careful of that.

"We are at home and want to dictate the game, to play the way we want to - but they have some threats as well who we have to be careful of."z
