The 30-year-old is now widely expected to leave north London for Germany
One of the biggest sagas of the summer transfer window appears to be drawing to a close.
Harry Kane has been in the spotlight ever since the final day of last season and, now, Bayern Munich look poised to land their man.
Kane has been a great servant to Tottenham over the years but, following a breakthrough in talks, is now expected to leave the capital behind.
That will be a bitter blow to fans of the Premier League.
Bayern Munich are confident of securing the signing of Harry Kane

There have already been reports saying Kane is open to the move.
So GB News now takes a look at four reasons why the forward's imminent move to Germany is no surprise.
Kane has been nothing short of sensational for Tottenham over the years, scoring a stunning 280 goals across all competitions for the club.
But Spurs have let the 30-year-old down by failing to become a team capable of challenging England and Europe's elite.
Kane has done his part, of course. But Tottenham, whether it's from poor managerial appointments or bad spending, have failed to do theirs.
While the player has been enthused by the appointment of Ange Postecoglu, it seems to be a case of too little too late.
Tottenham, under Mauricio Pochettino, seemed to be going places. But the brutal truth is they've never recovered since sacking the Argentine back in October 2019.
Kane hasn't experienced a single trophy triumph during his career, for neither club or country.
For that reason alone a move to Bayern makes perfect sense.
The Bundesliga giants are a side practically guaranteed to win silverware every year. Even last season, amid chaos off the field, they were able to beat Borussia Dortmund to German football's biggest prize.
And Bayern are usually among the favourites to secure Champions League glory every year, too.
A player of Kane's quality deserves to win. While Bayern aren't a Real Madrid or Barcelona, they still do that more than most.
There was once a time when English footballers going abroad was a rarity.
That has since changed, however, and Kane would be embarking on a whole new challenge over in Bavaria.
Munich is a beautiful place to live and isn't too far from London, meaning the 30-year-old would be able to jet back to see his friends and family without any inconvenience.
Kane would get a chance to live in a different city, experience a different culture and soak in different sights.
It's no wonder the player is open to the move.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Tottenham and Bayern Munich have reached a transfer agreement for Harry Kane

Bayern seem to be the only team willing to offer Kane a route out of Tottenham at the current moment in time.
Manchester United had been considered frontrunners at one stage but they cooled their interest earlier in the summer and have since signed Rasmus Hojlund.
PSG, who have also been linked with Kane, are too busy contending with the Kylian Mbappe situation to pursue a deal.
Barcelona don't have the finances, Manchester City have Erling Haaland and Real would prefer to bring in Mbappe instead.
As a result, it seems to be a case of Kane moving to Bayern or staying. No other top team is pursuing a deal.
