Golf fans watching The Devil Wears Prada 2 this week got quite the unexpected treat when Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica popped up on screen.
The long-awaited sequel, which reunites Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt two decades after the original, is packed with celebrity appearances that have got everyone talking.
Lady Gaga, Donatella Versace, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell all make appearances, alongside Ashley Graham, Jenna Bush Hager, Tina Brown and NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns.
But it's the Northern Irish golfer's surprise turn that's really caught people off guard, bringing together the worlds of sport and high fashion in the most delightful way.
Speaking at the film's European premiere in London, director David Frankel couldn't hide his enthusiasm about landing the four-time major champion for a cameo.
"Well, the one I was most excited for will surprise isn't even in the world of fashion. I mean I loved having Rory McIlroy," Frankel said.
"He was a great sport. A very good actor."

It turns out the filmmaker had been keen to get McIlroy involved ever since hearing an interview the golfer gave last year.
The connection between one of sport's biggest names and the beloved fashion film might seem unlikely, but there's actually a rather amusing story behind how it all came together.
Frankel revealed that the idea struck him after McIlroy discussed his pre-tournament routine ahead of his 2025 Players Championship victory.

Five things to know about Rory McIlroy | GETTY"You know it was triggered because last year, right before he won the Players Championship, the press asked him what he did to relax the night before he won the tournament, and he said he watched 'The Devil Wears Prada,'" Frankel explained.
"I knew we had a fan."
McIlroy had spoken about his evening ritual after securing the title in a Monday playoff against J.J. Spaun at TPC Sawgrass.
He said at the time: "Yeah, I would say I was a little disappointed last night, but I also was mindful that I couldn't feel that way, that I needed to reset.
"Once I got back to the hotel, I just tried to sort of forget about it and had some room service, watched a little bit of Devil Wears Prada and went to bed. That was basically it."
The McIlroys appear for roughly 10 to 15 seconds during a glamorous Met Gala-style party sequence in the middle of the film.
Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll married back in 2017 | GETTYIt's quite something to see one of golf's biggest stars rubbing shoulders with fashion royalty on the big screen.
What makes their inclusion even more special is that not everyone who filmed scenes made the final cut.
Reports suggest that even Sydney Sweeney's appearance ended up on the cutting room floor, making Rory and Erica's brief moment all the more remarkable.
The sequel has enjoyed largely positive reviews so far, with Rotten Tomatoes scoring it at 77 per cent.
