Sir Dave Brailsford appears to have confirmed Ruben Amorim will be the new Manchester United manager after speaking with fans outside of Old Trafford.
United are seemingly moving quickly after sacking Erik ten Hag on Monday with the club sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was announced as the interim manager and he was in charge for United's Carabao Cup tie against Leicester City on Wednesday evening.
And there was a feel-good factor inside Old Trafford as United thumped the Foxes 5-2 to progress to the quarter-finals.

But Van Nistelrooy seemingly won't be given a chance to prove himself in the role for much longer with Amorim's appointment seemingly agreed.
Brailsford was filmed stopping for photos with a group of United fans outside Old Trafford on Wednesday night where he could be heard saying 'it's done' when several supporters were asking him whether 'the deal was done'.
Brailsford walked away with the United fans convinced he had just confirmed Amorim's imminent appointment.
If a deal has been agreed then United will reportedly be forking out £9.2million to Sporting Lisbon for the Portuguese manager.
That's on top of the £17.2m they are paying to Ten Hag in compensation for sacking him.
Van Nistelrooy has made it clear that he would like to remain at the club in some capacity if Amorim is appointed.
He said: “I’m here to help and serve and give my everything for the club in any capacity with so many people here around me that want the best for the club and that will never change."
It's been reported that Amorim may not arrive at Old Trafford until the international break, meaning Van Nistelrooy could remain in charge for the next three games.

That includes Sunday's match against Chelsea before two more home games against PAOK in the Europa League and Leicester in the Premier League.
And Van Nistelrooy is happy to step in for as long as the club need him to before a permanent replacement is brought in.
“Of course – I came here as an assistant to help the club,” Van Nistelrooy said.
