Marcus Rashford's reputation among his Manchester United team-mates has been 'tarnished' following his trip to Belfast in January, according to reports.

The England international left manager Erik ten Hag furious by spending two nights clubbing in Northern Ireland.

Rashford later reported ill for training and was subsequently dropped for the club's 4-2 FA Cup win over Newport County.

Though the 26-year-old has since been reinstated to Ten Hag's starting XI, he's continued to struggle for form.

Having struck 30 goals across all competitions last term, Rashford has bagged just six times this season.

And the Daily Mail say the forward's reputation among his team-mates has suffered, with the England star's stock 'tarnished' as a result of his recent trip to Belfast.

It's also claimed United players feel 'let down' by Rashford, too.

The Red Devils star scored a stunner on Sunday as the club lost 3-1 to Manchester City in their crunch derby clash at the Etihad Stadium.

But he struggled to impact proceedings, his goal aside, with fans left infuriated as a result.

Rashford has been a regular at United ever since bursting onto the scene under Louis van Gaal back in 2016.

He announced himself to the world with a memorable brace against FC Midtjylland that year, delivering at a time when Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial were sidelined through injury.

Rashford then scored another brace days later as United beat Arsenal 3-2.

But his long-term future at the club is currently up in the air, particularly after the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

There is talk of a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain amid an expectancy Kylian Mbappe will leave for Real Madrid.

PSG have long admired Rashford, having previously eyed the forward back in 2019.

And the United star must up the ante if he's to survive at Old Trafford under the Ratcliffe regime, regardless of what happens with Ten Hag.

All was rosy between the pair 12 months ago as Rashford scored 30 goals in a season for the first time in his career.

However, they are said to merely have a 'working relationship' these days.

Ten Hag could lose his job at United, with the likes of Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi being linked with his position.

He's adamant his views are aligned with Ratcliffe's, however, and it'll be fascinating to see how the situation unfolds.

Rashford, meanwhile, recently gave an interview to The Players Tribune and hit back at his critics by saying: "I don’t normally like to respond to things said about me. It’s not in my nature.

"I’m an introvert... but if you ever question my commitment to Man United, that’s when I have to speak up."

He added: "You know what, though? If I’m honest, a part of me doesn't mind it when people doubt me...Whenever I’ve been in my darkest of places, and it feels like half the world is against me, I tend to go off by myself for a couple of days and reset.

"Every single time I’ve been down, physically or mentally, I always feel like that’s when I turn it around and play my best football for United and England."

Rashford will be hoping to start when United tackle Everton this Saturday (12.30pm).

The Red Devils won 3-0 at Goodison Park earlier in the season and know they need a similar result to boost their chances of Champions League football next term.
