The forward is set to be fined two weeks' wages following his recent trip to Northern Ireland

England will monitor Marcus Rashford's situation following his clubbing antics that have raised eyebrows at Manchester United, reports say.

The 26-year-old is in hot water after going out twice in Northern Ireland before reporting ill to training.

Rashford missed United's 4-2 FA Cup win over Newport County on Sunday, with manager Erik ten Hag visibly annoyed when quizzed about the forward.

The Red Devils insist the matter is closed, with Rashford in contention to play in their Premier League clash with Wolves on Thursday night.

But many are unhappy with Rashford amid suggestions his team-mates are angry with his behaviour.

The England star hasn't always been a guaranteed pick for his country, having blown hot and cold under Gareth Southgate in previous years.

And The Sun say the Three Lions are set to monitor Rashford's situation with the European Championships due to take place this summer.

England will need everybody performing if they're to win a first major trophy since the World Cup in 1966.

Rashford, over the past year, has often started in attack alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

However, with Southgate's squad full of options, Rashford will need to deliver between now and the end of the season to keep his spot in the starting XI.

United are said to be worried about their star performer, who has netted just four goals across all competitions this term.

They expected Rashford to drive them to silverware when they gave the forward a bumper new deal back in the summer.

But Rashford has regressed ever since and looks a shadow of the player that was terrorising Premier League defences 12 months ago.

United are set to punish Rashford - and it's not the first time Ten Hag has had to deal with disciplinary issues at the club.

He famously jettisoned Cristiano Ronaldo at the tail end of 2022 after the forward criticised him in a bombshell interview.

And Ten Hag offloaded Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund earlier this month, three months after the England winger had effectively called his manager a liar.

Meanwhile, former United captain Gary Neville has opened up on Rashford.

And he feels that, while players are entitled to a night out, the Red Devils star got his timing wrong due to players recently returning from a winter break.

"To me, going out for a drink or going out for a night out is something that every football player will do and should do so I've got no problem with that whatsoever," he said. "They need to enjoy themselves.

"It's just all about choices and timing.

"Manchester United have just had a winter break. They've had a couple of weeks off so there was a better moment for him to choose to go out.

"I would say, go out and have your moment where you relax with your friends, but your timing has to be right.

"Marcus himself knows - he's an experienced player now, we're not talking about a young lad - but he's done it a couple of times in the last few months.

"I've always seen Marcus as being really responsible, a good professional and someone who works hard every single day.

"I know he's going through a dip in form at this moment in time but it's happened twice and it can sometimes become your personality if you're not careful.

"If you do it too many times people can start saying, 'what's happening in his life?' He just needs to relax, calm down, choose when to go out and get back to playing football at the levels we know he can."
