Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund over Harry Kane back in the summer transfer window, raising some eyebrows in the process.
And reports say the Red Devils felt there were 'disadvantages' when it came to recruiting the England international, despite his impressive form for Bayern Munich.
Kane has scored 29 goals across all competitions for Bayern in his debut season following his summer arrival from Tottenham.
And while Hojlund is yet to get anywhere near that number, the Denmark international does at last seem to be coming good.

The 21-year-old made Premier League history on Sunday with his brace in United's narrow 2-1 victory over Luton.
Hojlund has become the youngest player in the league's history to score in six games in a row, breaking the record previously held by Joe Willock.
It's no wonder United and manager Erik ten Hag are happy with the forward, who appears to have turned a corner following a sluggish start to life at Old Trafford.
And the Manchester Evening News say some at the club felt signing Kane instead of Hojlund was something that carried 'disadvantages'.
It's said the Red Devils were concerned about Kane potentially upsetting the balance of the team.
The Bayern star likes to drop deep and receive the ball, something he did regularly at Tottenham.
Yet United preferred more of a focal point so Bruno Fernandes could continue to operate in the No 10 position.
It's well-documented some within the club were also wary of dealing with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, too.
Levy was enraged when the Red Devils signed Dimitar Berbatov from his team all the way back in 2008, having previously agreed a deal with Manchester City instead.
He's not sold a single player to United since, with the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale all being shipped elsewhere instead.
And while Kane remains brilliant, despite Bayern's difficult season, United are delighted with Hojlund's improvement.
They'll need their striker to continue to deliver the good as they look to finish in the Premier League top four, having overcome a stuttering start to the campaign.
Kane could soon be working under a former Red Devils boss over in Bavaria, however.
With Bayern struggling there have been claims Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could soon be heading to the Allianz Arena to replace Thomas Tuchel on an interim basis.
Bayern, for the time being, are standing by Tuchel.

But with the club's season going from bad to worse, wielding the axe isn't completely unfeasible.
Solskjaer would have loved to have signed Kane during his spell in charge of United.
And whether they do end up working together remains to be seen, amid speculation the Norwegian could be placed in charge until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, United icon Rio Ferdinand has lavished praise on Hojlund and believes jokes about the forward are now 'over'.
"The Hojlund jokes are over… my guy is cooking," he said on his Fibe with FIVE podcast.

"Erik ten Hag spoke really well about him after the game yesterday, saying this is the kid we signed, this is why we signed him, because of the strength of character.
"If you haven't got confidence, your game can go to pot.
"Add to that getting starved of any chances. So there was so much against him in that sense.
"But the chances are now falling to him and he's not scuffing. He's not up tight. You can see he's relaxed.
"The ball comes to him, with the chest, what a goal. But that speed of thought, the ability to do it but also there's a bit of confidence to do that now."
