The France international is set to finally end one of football's longest transfer sagas

Kylian Mbappe will reportedly earn a huge £12.8million each season at Real Madrid after agreeing to join the LaLiga giants.

The PSG star recently informed his current side that he wouldn't be signing a new deal with the club.

Mbappe's contract is due to expire at the end of the season and there's been talk of a potential move to the Premier League for the player.

However, that doesn't look like it will be happening with Real Madrid poised to land the 25-year-old on a free transfer instead.

BBC Sport say Mbappe has verbally agreed to join Real, who have admired the 2018 World Cup winner ever since he was a youngster.

It's claimed he will earn £12.8m at the Bernabeu, plus an eyewatering £128m signing-on bonus.

This bonus will supposedly be paid over five years, while Mbappe will also keep an unspecified percentage of his image rights.

Real, it's claimed, are set use Mbappe left of centre in a front three along with Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.

It will make the LaLiga giants an even bigger force than they are now, with the club chasing a LaLiga and Champions League double.

Real first explored a deal for Mbappe when he was strutting his stuff for Monaco.

They missed out on the forward to PSG back in the summer transfer window of 2017, however, with Mbappe wanting to make history in France before leaving his homeland behind.

The attacker has won five Ligue 1 titles at PSG, as well as three Coupe de France's and two Coupe de la Ligue's.

But Mbappe has been unable to secure the Champions League trophy he craves, which is part of the reason he's heading to Spain.

PSG made the final of European football's top-tier club competition back in 2020.

But they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, with Kingsley Coman netting the only goal of the game.

Mbappe's imminent exit will mark the end of PSG's disastrous Galactico era.

They were widely expected to dominate world football with Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar forming a formidable front three.

However, PSG have still failed to secure the prize for the first time in their entire history.

There's been talk of Mbappe already signing his contract at Real. Yet that's something that reportedly hasn't happened at the current moment in time.

Instead, Mbappe is set to pen a bumper deal with Los Blancos once PSG and Real can't meet in this year's Champions League.

At the weekend, meanwhile, Los Blancos slumped to a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.

Ancelotti was then asked if the saga and speculation surrounding Mbappe was distracting his team.

Yet the Italian denied that was the case and said: "When have we not been focused?

"We are always focused, today too. To scold this team for something this season is very difficult."

Explaining the result further, he added: "It's both very simple and very complicated to explain.

"We have just played a Champions League match. And given the energy displayed, I think it was important to give playing time to players who had not played.

"We have an ambitious goal, that of being able to fight in all competitions until the end to win titles. We therefore need all the players, including five or six players who did not play as starters on Wednesday."
