The Manchester City star has split with his wife after fathering two children with another woman

Kyle Walker is 'doing all he can to avoid a very expensive divorce' following his split from Annie Kilner, it has been claimed.

The 33-year-old wore his wedding ring on Monday as he attended the FIFA Best Awards, with the right-back named in the governing body's world XI.

Kilner confirmed the pair were spending time away from each other last week, saying on Instagram: "I am posting this in response to growing recent media enquiries about my marriage to Kyle and in an effort to protect my family against the intensity of the media spotlight.

"Sadly, after many years of marriage and three wonderful children together; I have decided to take some time away from Kyle.

"I do not wish to comment on the position any further.

"For now, I ask that the privacy of myself and our three young children is respected during this difficult time."

According to the Daily Mail, Walker is now doing 'all he can' to avoid a divorce.

Friends of the City star think, however, that their relationship is 'irreparable'.

Kilner recently discovered that Walker had fathered two children with blogger Lauryn Goodman.

Both Walker and his wife are thrilled amid news that she's expecting the couple's fourth child.

Yet it seems as though their marriage, at least for the time being, is over.

A friend is quoted as telling the publication: "There is no question now that Annie is going to start asserting herself after what Kyle has done to her.

"She has put up with it all for a long time now but now appears that it is her turn to start calling the shots.

"It is impossible to see any way back now, the only way forward seems to be a divorce, a very expensive one.

"You wouldn't be surprised to see her take him to the cleaners.

"It is terrifying to think how much it could cost him but it's a mess and it seems this is the only way forward now."

Walker, should the pair divorce, may end up losing £13.5million of his fortune.

He put on a brave face while attending the FIFA ceremony in London on Monday night.

Walker attended the do with his son, Roman, with City recognised after winning a sensational treble last season.
