Joey Barton has taken to X to reveal a private message he's sent Alex Scott.
The former Manchester City and Newcastle star has caused outrage by repeatedly targeting Scott and her achievements as a footballer.
Barton believes women shouldn't be working as pundits in the men's game due to a lack of experience, while also attacking Scott by saying she wasn't a great player.
Many fans have turned on the ex-midfielder as a result.

And Barton has now revealed a private message he's sent the former Arsenal star.
The 41-year-old said to Scott: "Come on! I don't want to have a row."
Barton has, however, insisted he respects Scott and believes she is a 'great role model' and a 'brilliant player in the women's game'.
"She followed me first. I’ve just follow (sic) back," he said.
"I like Alex. I think she’s a great role model. A brilliant player in the women’s game.
"The men’s game is different. Debate me. Let’s discuss. I’m a bad guy. I get it. But I want to do good.
"Have a great Christmas.
"Tell your boy @J_Dyer_Official to watch his mouth on here…
"I’ll let him off this time because I respect you. Even though he’s MMA and from Camden.
"He’s a lovely lad. I met him at Cambridge. Nicest man ever.

Fans on X have responded to Barton's latest comments with many feeling he's now acting up.
"Didn't you say a few posts back that you weren't a 'DM slider'?" said one user.
A second said: "Pretty sure u not long ago called her a bang average Sunday league player or are my eyes playing tricks."
A third stated: "Tweets like he’s talking to himself in a padded room."
A fourth weighed in by saying: "Didn't you say 15mins ago that she was a 'really bad player' make up your mind ffs!"
And a fifth said: "You’ve lost the plot."
Scott, meanwhile, sent a pointed message to her critics while working for the BBC over the weekend.
"Just before we say goodbye," she started by saying.
