Jermaine Jenas 'will fight to clear his name' with suspicions on real reason for quick BBC sacking

Jermaine Jenas has said he is 'deeply sorry' after being fired by the BBC.
Jermaine Jenas reportedly feels the BBC would have handled his sacking differently were it not for the Huw Edwards scandal, according to one of his close friends.
Jenas was fired by the broadcaster on Thursday after allegations were made against him of improper conduct.
The former England international was live on air on talkSPORT when the allegations were made public and said he was 'not happy' with his sacking.
Just 24 hours after his sacking, Jenas gave an interview where he apologised for sending explicit messages to colleagues on The One Show.
But Jenas will reportedly still fight to clear his name, according to a friend of the former presenter.

“He keeps doubling down and saying that it’s not fair, he doesn’t accept the situation, and he will fight to clear his name,” the unnamed friend told the Daily Mail.
“He firmly believes things would have been different if the BBC hadn’t just faced a big scandal, but he insists also that he hasn’t done much wrong.
“He keeps saying there are two sides to the story, but that he’s been advised not to tell anybody the details by his lawyers so that they can prepare a case to send to the BBC.”
Edwards pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children last month, including seven category A images - the most serious classification.
The former BBC presenter was suspended in July last year over allegations he received inappropriate images from a younger person and gave them money and resigned from the broadcaster in April this year.
Jenas has admitted that he was hoping for a suspension himself and was 'deeply sorry' for his actions.
“I was obviously hoping that I maybe would have got a suspension of some sort," he told The Sun.
“I had to tell her by Monday evening because I knew then that I’d been fired. I just said, ‘I’ve been sacked from the BBC’.“
She said, ‘What for?’, and I said, ‘For sending text messages that weren’t appropriate to two girls’.
“Ellie is absolutely raging. She’s human. When I see her now, she is just making sure the children are OK.”
He added: “I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry.
Jermaine Jenas has since apologised for the messages he sent

“I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology — especially the women with whom I was messaging. I am so, so sorry.
“I am sorry for what I have put them through.
“I think it would be fair to say I have a problem. I know I self- sabotage and have a self-destructive streak when it comes to my relationship especially, and I know I need help. And I am getting help.
“I have made a lot of mistakes, and I am asking myself a lot of questions at the moment. I know there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, and it will be hard.

“Before any of this became public, I saw my private doctor and after a long discussion, booked in for therapy to try and address these issues, where they stem from, and why I have been doing this and hurting the people I love.
“I’m not proud of what I wrote and what I said. And I do consider it cheating, yes, although nothing physical ever happened.
“This is all on me and I fully accept there is a level of responsibility that needs to be upheld when you’re a member of the BBC. And I fell below those standards. I must take the responsibility.
“I was given an incredible opportunity and I know it’s on me that right now I feel I have lost everything. I feel like people are judging me and that I am the number one target right now in the country.”
