Jamie Carragher takes savage swipe at Chelsea as 38th transfer in two-year Todd Boehly era nears

Chelsea have broken numerous records over the past two years since Todd Boehly and co. walked through the doors at Stamford Bridge.
Jamie Carragher has told Chelsea to 'stop buying players' with Joao Felix set to become the 38th permanent signing under Todd Boehly's ownership.
Chelsea have broken the bank with over £1billion spent on transfers since the American consortium purchased the club back in 2022.
Their big spending has continued this summer under new manager Enzo Maresca with the likes of Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Filip Jorgensen joining.
Despite seven departures, the amount of signings has left Chelsea with a bloated squad of 42 first-team players.

Felix looks set to become the latest addition to Maresca's squad with a fee agreed in principle with Atletico Madrid and Conor Gallagher moving in the other direction.
Chelsea have been heavily criticised throughout the past two years for their level of spending with the club struggling to make an impact in the league.
And Carragher has taken a fresh swipe at the club and can't understand why any player would see them as an attractive destination.
"Chelsea have just got to stop buying players and players have got to stop signing for Chelsea," he said on Sky Sports.
"If I was a player and look at Chelsea, why would you sign?
"The only reason you'd sign is because someone might say - your agent might say - 'We're getting a seven-year deal'.
"You know what I'd say? 'Back yourself as a player, sign a four-year deal at a proper club and back yourself to do well'.
"And then when you're due for renewal your money goes up anyway.
