Harry Kane was back in north London with Bayern Munich and scored against Arsenal in their Champions League quarter-final.

Harry Kane joked he felt Arsenal fans have a 'soft respect' for him after his interview on TNT Sports was shouted down by a group of rowdy Gunners supporters following Bayern Munich's draw in their Champions League quarter-final.

The England captain was back on home soil on Tuesday night to face his old foes Arsenal in Europe.

Arsenal fans gave him a cold reception ahead of the game as the striker stepped off the bus and he was booed repeatedly throughout the match.

Gunners fans jeered whenever Kane touched the ball, but they were silenced midway through the first half when the striker scored from the spot to give Bayern a 2-1 lead.

Arsenal had the last laugh as they were able to find an equaliser through Leandro Trossard to leave the tie finely poised heading to Germany.

Kane was pulled out for a post-match interview on the side of the pitch after the match with Laura Woods, Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown.

But a group of Arsenal fans had gathered behind the cameras and made their feelings known to Kane.

The England captain was asked by Ferdinand whether he saw a difference in this Arsenal team compared to the one he faced last year with Tottenham.

He said: "You've seen it over the last couple of years, my last season at Tottenham they were really strong and they had a good go at winning the league."

But the rest of Kane's answer was drowned out by Arsenal fans chanting 'we hate Tottenham' loudly.

The group of Arsenal supporters continued chanting against Tottenham throughout Kane's time in front of the cameras.

Woods, who supports Arsenal, cheekily asked Kane whether he had 'missed this lot' while pointing to the home supporters.

Kane replied with a smile: "I think they have a soft respect for me."

When asked whether his goal meant a little bit more given his affiliation with Tottenham, Kane smirked as he appeared to agree.

"I know there wasn't only Bayern Munich fans watching this game," he said.

"There was maybe a little bit more pressure."

Kane also revealed that his goal came from researching David Raya's style with penalties.

"It was one of them where I did a bit of research on what he did against Porto," he added.

"He really gets to the corners early so I had to change my style a bit but that's part of it."
