And Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Wolves have parted ways with O'Neil.
The 41-year-old took charge of the side back in the summer of 2023 after Julen Lopetegui surprisingly opted to walk away in dramatic circumstances.
Despite Wolves losing a host of big players, O'Neil was able to guide them to a 14th-placed finish.
Yet they've found life far tougher this term, with the team winning just two of their 16 Premier League matches so far.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was spotted watching the action unfold at Molineux yesterday, sparking suggestions he could take over.
The Norwegian has been out of work ever since leaving Manchester United back in November 2021 following a dreadful 4-0 defeat to Watford.
But Solskjaer did recently indicate that he was essentially retired from management, stressing that he doesn't need the money in order to return to the dugout.

"It is a big blow for the group," he confessed.
