According to French outlet RMC, Letellier was attacked by burglars during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

They say the 33-year-old, his wife and their two children were held at knifepoint during the terrifying ordeal.

The attackers reportedly demanded money and jewellery before striking the PSG star's wife in the face.

Police were able to intervene, however.

After an alarm woke Letellier and his wife in the early hours, the duo called the police immediately.

By that point, the attackers had already made their way into the garden.

But their quick thinking meant the authorities hastily arrived and three of the four intruders - two minors and an adult - were arrested.

It's claimed one police officer suffered an injury to the knee while at the scene.

The three arrested suspects have since been placed into custody.

Letellier and his wife reportedly live in Yvelines, which is situated in Northern France.

The news comes less than 24 hours after it emerged Kevin De Bruyne's mansion in Belgium had been targeted by burglars in a separate incident.

The Manchester City star is currently in Saudi Arabia ahead of the Club World Cup, which is due to commence later today.

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

De Bruyne's family weren't at the property, which the family are said to use only sporadically.

The 32-year-old's home boasts a swimming pool, basketball court and jacuzzi.

Items were reportedly taken during the break-in, though it's unclear what specific objects were robbed.

De Bruyne could play some part for City when they go up against Urawa Reds on Tuesday (6pm).
