Real Madrid have banned fans from purchasing club shirts with the names of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe on the back, according to reports.

Haaland currently plays for Manchester City and recently helped the club win the Club World Cup.

Mbappe, meanwhile, remains at Paris Saint-Germain despite plenty of speculation over his future.

Both players have, however, been linked with moves to Real Madrid in recent years.

Haaland was reportedly a target for Los Blancos prior to his move to City last year.

And Mbappe has been on Real's radar ever since his time at Monaco.

However, Cadena Ser say the LaLiga titans have now introduced a new rule at their official club shop.

Fans who ask for either Mbappe or Haaland's names will be turned away, in line with their new policy.

The only exception is if the individual in question has 'Haaland' or 'Mbappe' as their surname.

Real have reportedly taken these measures 'out of respect' for both City and PSG.

Right now, it's unclear if the club have any plans to revisit interest in either Haaland or Mbappe.

However, Real are one of the biggest teams in world football and also boast the financial muscle required to bring the pair to Spain.

Fans demanding the names of players who don't play for Real is rather unusual behaviour.

Yet it must have happened before if the club are now taking action to address the situation behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this month, Haaland's agent Rafaela Pimenta talked up the possibility of the Norway international one day joining Real.

However, she also admitted Haaland was the 'master of his own destiny'.

"Erling is the master of own destiny, always," said Pimenta.

"He will always do what’s good for him and for Man City.

"When they all are open to make a change, it will happen. Erling will always be respectful."

As for Mbappe, the PSG star explained his snub to Zinedine Zidane after meeting his childhood hero in 2017.

"My parents wanted me to start my career in France, to be educated in France," he said.

"To play football, but also to continue my education. To go to Spain, even if it was with Zidane, it was another country, another culture..."

He added: "At the beginning it was hard to carry that weight, because I was so young.

"I was an 18-to-19-year-old who loved to do 18-to-19-year-old things.

"When you want to get to the top, there is no room for immature people, no room for children.
