How England won the Rugby World Cup in 2003 ahead of Argentina showdown

Steve Borthwick's side are preparing for their opening match of the tournament
England will begin their Rugby World Cup campaign against Argentina on Saturday hoping to emulate the class of 2003 by bringing the trophy home.
Not many are giving Steve Borthwick's side much of a chance this year given some poor results leading up to the tournament.
But England, after two final defeats since their 2003 success, will be hoping third time's a charm.
The Red and Whites have won the tournament just once, which came two decades ago.

They got that campaign off to a brilliantly strong start, hammering Georgia 84-6 to secure the points.
Mike Tindall, Matt Dawson, Steve Thompson, Neil Back, Lawrence Dallaglio, Mark Regan, Ben Cohen, Dan Luger and braces from Jason Robinson and Will Greenwood made it a day to remember.
England were then given the tough test of overcoming South Africa.
Though they weren't as good as the team that would clinch glory four years later, they were still formidable.
But Sir Clive Woodward's side were way too strong, powering their way to a 25-6 win over their opponents.
England were then able to make it three wins from three with a 35-22 victory over Samoa.
And Woodward's team then turned on the style to batter Uruguay 111-13 to finish the group stage on a high note.
In the last eight, England were drawn against Wales.
And though they weren't at their best, they managed to launch a sensational comeback to go through to the semis having trailed 10-3 after 43 minutes.
Greenwood scored England's only try before Jonny Wilkinson stepped up, bagging 23 points to propel his side to within touching distance of the biggest match in rugby.
In the semi-finals, another old rival awaited.
France had made the semis having overcome Ireland, while also making it out of a group also consisting of Fiji, Japan, Scotland and the United States.
England weren't able to get a single try against the French.
Yet that didn't matter with Wilkinson clinching all the points via his brilliant right foot to give England a 24-7 win.
That set up a blockbuster final against hosts Australia, who were the strong favourites to reign supreme.
England raced into a 14-5 point lead, with Robinson scoring a memorable early try to settle the nerves.
Yet Australia came roaring back, with two penalties from Elton Fatley helping the hosts back into the contest.
The match was level at 17-17 in extra time before Wilkinson then etched his name into rugby folklore.
The England star scored a memorable drop goal in the dying seconds of the match to ensure his team lift the golden, glittering Webb Ellis Cup.
Ahead of their match with Argentina, that tournament will always be fondly remembered by everybody associated with England rugby.

Whether they can achieve the same success as the team two decades ago, however, remains to be seen.
