Newly-crowned darts world champion Luke Littler has delivered a stark assessment of Manchester United's prospects ahead of their crucial match against Liverpool.
The 17-year-old sensation, who claimed his historic title with a commanding 7-3 victory over Michael van Gerwen on Friday, has been a lifelong United supporter.
Littler, who hails from Warrington, just a short drive from Manchester, has become increasingly celebrated by the club during his meteoric rise over the past year.
However, the teenage champion has shown little optimism about his beloved team's current situation.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Littler offered a candid critique of United's current squad problems.
When asked what he thinks needs to be done at United to turn things around, Littler replied: "No idea. Well, we've all got an idea.
"Just the players. There's some players in the club [who] are getting on a bit.
"They need to go and play somewhere else. And, obviously, we need to find the right players to fit in the squad."
United's current predicament is stark, with the team languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table.

Despite the mid-season appointment of Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils have shown no signs of improvement in their results.
The club sits closer to the relegation zone than the top four, having managed just two wins in their last eight league games.
They now face the daunting prospect of travelling to Anfield to face Arne Slot's Liverpool side, who currently maintain a five-point lead at the top of the table ahead of Arsenal.
The situation appears particularly bleak, with United just seven points clear of the relegation zone.
When asked about his prediction for Sunday's clash at Anfield, Littler showed little faith in United's chances against the league leaders.

"No idea. I'll take a draw," the teenage world champion told BBC Sport.
His modest expectations reflect the stark contrast between the two sides' current form, with Liverpool sitting at the Premier League summit while United struggle in the lower reaches of the table.
The young darts champion's willingness to settle for a point demonstrates the dramatic shift in expectations at a club that once dominated English football.
