The match ended 4-4 at Stamford Bridge

Cole Palmer scored a dramatic late penalty to earn Chelsea a draw in Sunday's dramatic Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors went ahead in the 25th minute, with Erling Haaland scoring from 12 yards.

It was a satisfying moment for the Norway international, who failed to score against Chelsea last season.

However, just four minutes later, the Blues were level.

Veteran Thiago Silva rose to nod home a corner, sparking wild celebrations around Stamford Bridge in the process.

Fans in the home end were then on their feet again in the 37th minute, with Raheem Sterling netting from close range.

The England international was a key player for Pep Guardiola's side during his spell at City.

And he clearly relished netting against his old employers, with Sterling continuing to show signs of improvement this season.

Their joy was to be short-lived, however.

Manuel Akanji levelled for City just before half time, with the former Borussia Dortmund star boosting his side's chances of victory.

And things got even better for City two minutes after the interval when Haaland found the net again.

The Norway international bundled the ball home from close range.

VAR checked the goal for a possible handball, with the ball nudging his elbow as it went in.

But the strike was correctly given and, for a while, looked as though it would be enough for City to secure all three points.

Chelsea nearly levelled through former City star Cole Palmer, who crossed the divide back in the summer.

And they were able to restore parity through Nicholas Jackson, who bagged his fourth goal in six days having bagged a hat-trick against Tottenham on Monday night.

Jackson was able to capitalise after Ederson spilled a powerful shot from Conor Gallagher into his path.

Chelsea missed a glorious chance to win the match, with Malo Gusto blazing over from close range - much to the ire of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

But City looked like winning it instead when Rodri's deflected strike soared into the bottom corner, with the fans in the away end sent into a state of ecstasy.

Not to be denied, however, Chelsea grabbed a late leveller from the penalty spot with Palmer keeping his cool to blast his effort high to earn a draw against his old side following a foul from Ruben Dias inside the box.

The winger, who crossed the divide back in the summer, produced a subdued celebration. Inside, however, he'll be delighted at showing his old club what they're missing.
