The Spaniard is the talk of tennis after winning the second Grand Slam of his career on Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz has been backed to become tennis' first billionaire in the wake of his Wimbledon triumph on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who previously won the US Open last year, managed to overcome seven-time champion Novak Djokovic to become the toast of Centre Court.

Alcaraz has now won nearly $20million (£15.3m) in prize money throughout his career so far and, as world No 1, the trophies are expected to keep rolling in.

And former tennis star Andrew Castle, speaking to The Sun, has expressed a belief the Spaniard has the potential to make a billion dollars in the future.

“The tennis world is excited by Carlos but he has the possibility of going beyond tennis because there is something incredibly likeable about him," he said.

“He is a wholesome kid, a really good bloke and just a bouncing bundle of energy - and his tennis is exciting. "He doesn’t come from a privileged background.

“He has the possibility of being bigger than the sport, people adore him.

"Carlos is on course to be one of the highest-earning sportsmen in history.

"At the age of 20, with everything he has done now, why wouldn’t he make a billion dollars?”

Alcaraz is a humble character.

After winning his first Wimbledon trophy, he lavished praise on Djokovic and revealed how much he admired the Serb and his own exploits.

The 20-year-old then jetted off back to Spain to spend some time with his family, who he still lives with.

Alcaraz and his parents are from Murcia and live in a flat located above a kebab shop called 'Turquesa Kebab & Pizza’.

It's believed the property is worth around £170,000, while a quick Google search shows the shop located below is popular among customers.

When it comes to tennis' richest players, Roger Federer tops the list.

The Swiss maestro has a bank balance close to $550m (£420m), having won 20 Grand Slams during his glittering career.

Serena Williams has pocketed $300m (£229m) and said back in October she was open to continuing in the sport.

And Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have earned close to £183m and £168m during their spells in the sport.

Meanwhile, Djokovic said after the Wimbledon final that Alcaraz was a mix of himself, Federer and Nadal.

The youngster has reacted and admitted he feels he's a really complete player, despite his young age.

"It's crazy that Novak said that. But I consider myself a really complete player," he said.

"I have the shots, the strength physically, the strength mentally.

"Probably he's right. But I don't want to think about it. I'm the full Carlos Alcaraz, let's say."
