Carlos Alcaraz hasn't been named by Nick Kyrgios in the Australian's top three list of rivals.

The 20-year-old is the man to beat in the tennis world right now, having beaten Novak Djokovic in five sets to win Wimbledon and the second Grand Slam of his career earlier this month.

However, despite claiming the US Open title last year as well, Alcaraz hasn't been named in Kyrgios' three-man list of rivals.

In a recent Q&A session with fans on Instagram, the Aussie instead opted to name Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Stan Wawrinka.

And that meant that both Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic missed out.

While that's the case, Kyrgios did make it clear he was full of admiration for the new Wimbledon champion - inviting him to play an exhibition match.

Alcaraz seemingly hasn't responded just yet, however.

Instead, the 20-year-old is focusing on next month's US Open where he'll be looking to retain the title won last year.

Alcaraz was too strong for Casper Ruud in the 2022 final, beating the Norwegian in four sets at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

And former Wimbledon finalist Goran Ivanisevic, speaking to Sportske Novosti, has claimed Jannik Sinner and Djokovic are the only players who can stop Alcaraz from charging towards another major.

“Alcaraz is a story by himself, and Sinner is the only one who can threaten him at the US Open, along with Novak," he said.

"The game that Sinner has doesn’t match Alcaraz and they have had very interesting matches so far.

“Also, if Medvedev plays well on the day, he is also a phenomenal player for me.

"Novak remains the only ‘dinosaur’ among those older ones, the rest are all young guys. It’s a normal sequence, but there’s still something to ask the elders.”

Meanwhile, tennis icon Jimmy Connors thinks Alcaraz can win 15 Grand Slams - but only if he stays grounded and doesn't become arrogant.

“If Carlos Alcaraz plays until he is 33. So, he has got 13 years. Let's just say he plays for 12 more years, that is 48 more slams.

"And if he doesn’t get too full of himself, I would say 15.”

He added: “That is if he doesn't think he doesn't have to go out and work hard and it's gonna come easy.

“He needs to continue what he's doing now and looks like he will.

"He has that passion, that smile, that excitement, and that feel for what he's doing."

Nadal is the only Spanish player to have won the US Open more than once.

The 37-year-old, who recently confirmed he plans to retire from the sport next year, won his first title back in 2010 when he beat Djokovic in the final.

Nadal also reigned supreme in 2013, when Djokovic was again beaten.

And he's since added two more triumphs to his collection, beating Kevin Anderson and Daniil Medvedev in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
