The 20-year-old will be hoping to win a third Grand Slam of his career at Flushing Meadows

Carlos Alcaraz has been pictured with a fresh haircut as the Spaniard looks to retain the US Open title.

The 20-year-old is the talk of the tennis world following his remarkable Wimbledon final win over Novak Djokovic earlier this month.

Alcaraz was able to overcome the Serb in five sets, ending Djokovic's stunning run of four triumphs on the trot in the process.

A post from victorbarbers5 on Instagram shows Alcaraz's hair significantly shorter than it was during his appearance at the All England Club.

Alcaraz smiled and looked relaxed as he posed for a photo wearing an Air Jordan t-shirt.

The 20-year-old was also happy to feature in a video for his hairdresser, who proudly showed off the results to his followers.

Alcaraz is set to take part at the Cincinnati Open prior to the US Open, with Novak Djokovic also confirmed for the event.

Then, after that, he'll be hoping to reign supreme at Flushing Meadows for a second time.

Alcaraz was outstanding in the tournament last year and beat Casper Ruud on his way to glory, overcoming the Norwegian in four sets.

And few would bet against the Spaniard securing glory for a second time in the wake of his Wimbledon triumph.

Djokovic, however, will be out for revenge.

The 36-year-old was pained after his Wimbledon final defeat, cutting a frustrated figure throughout the match as he lost to his younger opponent.

Alcaraz was comprehensively outplayed in the first set.

But he then came roaring back to stun Djokovic and emulate childhood Rafael Nadal by lifting the golden, glittering Wimbledon trophy.

While Djokovic was upset after the defeat, he did hail his opponent by saying: "I didn't expect him to play so well this year on grass, but he's proven he's the best player in the world.

"I haven't played a player like him ever, to be honest. I think people have been talking in the past 12 months or so about his game consisting of certain elements from Roger, Rafa, and myself. I would agree with that.

"He's got basically the best of all three worlds.

"He's got this Spanish bull mentality, fighting spirit and incredible defence that we've seen with Rafa.

"I think he's got some nice sliding backhands, some similarities with my backhands.

"He is a complete player."

Alcaraz then admitted he found Djokovic's comments to be 'crazy'.

"It's crazy that Novak said that. But I consider myself a really complete player," he said.

"I have the shots, the strength physically, the strength mentally.

"Probably he's right. But I don't want to think about it. I'm the full Carlos Alcaraz, let's say."

He added: "I am such a different player since the French Open. I grew up a lot. I took lessons from that match. I prepared a little bit differently mentally.

"I handled the nerves better than I did at the French Open. I fought until the last ball. It was a long match. The mental part allowed me to stay there for five sets.

"If I had lost the second set probably I couldn't have got the trophy, I would probably have lost in straight sets. That gave me a lot of motivation."
