The boxing star will be hoping to avenge his defeat from earlier in the year when he returns to the ring on December 21

Tyson Fury may have sacked his father ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk next month.

That's according to Carl Froch, who believes the 59-year-old could have been cut from his son's father after causing trouble in Saudi Arabia earlier in the year.

John appalled the world when he headbutted a young member of Usyk's entourage while in the Middle East, prior to Fury's defeat in Riyadh.

He was then criticised after he was seen giving his son instructions during the bout, despite other figures being more qualified.

And John also sparked a backlash earlier this week when he threw a glass of water at Darren Till, who will face Tommy Fury in January.

Froch, speaking to Action Network, has now criticised John.

And he's also expressed a belief that Fury may have cut his father loose as he looks to beat Usyk and get revenge for his defeat back in May.

"The usual pathetic childish behaviour from a grown man," he said.

"Darren Till did have a lot to say and he was very vocal but at the end of the day it’s not about him, it’s about Darren Till and Tommy Fury so why is Big John Fury, the fighting man, getting involved?

"Why the f**k is he getting involved? Has he been sacked by Tyson Fury? Did Tyson tell him to f*****g do one and now he’s with Tommy Fury trying to get some of the limelight?

"I don’t know but same old s**t. Darren Till totally wrote him off."

When directly asked if Fury has sacked John, Froch continued: "I hope so, I hope he has been told, ‘stay out of it, ‘I’ve got some business to take care of and your input is not helping me, and your promotion is getting old headbutting children at press conferences.'

"That kid he headbutted (at Fury v Usyk press conference) didn’t even look like he could have a shave.

"He might’ve been a young man, but he picked on the smallest person there and dropped the headbutt on him.

"It’s not the kind of behaviour you want to see, it is bad for boxing.

"At the end of the day, he is a guy who wants some attention. He’s a man who has never achieved anything.

"His son Tyson Fury is obviously very good, he’s a top fighter and we know what he’s all about.

"I know he just lost to Oleksandr Usyk but I don’t pay attention to him. I will respond to him because it’s great views and does great numbers but I’m not going to start subjects just for the case of getting some clicks for the sake of getting attention."

John previously called Froch out for a fight amid the bad blood between the pair.

Froch has accused his nemesis of lacking the courage to face him, however.

"He's the guy who tells you how good he is at fighting, but he had the opportunity to fight Joe Egan, and he had it on a plate for him, but he went quiet," he continued.

"Misfits were going to put the money up and if he wanted to give the money to charity he could’ve or he could’ve taken the money himself.

"If he was really serious about fighting, he had the opportunity to fight Joe Egan and he bottled that.

"All of his credibility went down the pan and you can't believe anything he says."
