The duo had been due to fight on July 20

The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is set to be called off completely after the bout was recently postponed, according to reports.

Iron Mike had been due to return to the ring on July 20 after a four-year absence, having last fought Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

However, following an ulcer flare up, the fight has been pushed back.

There remains hopes that the two men will be able to eventually square off against each other at some point later this year.

Yet World Boxing News say the fight is expected to be scrapped completely, in a huge blow to millions of fans around the world.

It's claimed that one false punch in the wrong place, especially around the midriff, could put Tyson's life in danger.

The ulcer, which is in his stomach, can rupture and pour stomach liquid from the abdominal wall.

That could cause 'significant' damage that would then require 'immediate' surgery.

There was already a huge backlash to the fight due to the huge 30-year age gap between the two fighters.

And the 'writing is on the wall' that the showdown will be put on the scrap heap.

It is currently unclear who Paul will square off against on July 20, with the American still keen to fight.

He has won nine of his 10 career bouts so far, with a defeat to Tommy Fury last year the only blot on his record.

There are claims Paul could face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr or Darren Till, with both men scheduled for the undercard.

Yet neither is as big a draw as Tyson, who is one of the biggest names in boxing and the sport's entire history.

Amir Khan, meanwhile, has revealed he'd love to step in and face Paul.

The 37-year-old previously announced his retirement from boxing back in 2022 after losing to Kell Brook.

But Khan would love the chance to face Paul, insisting he's ready to return to the ring if they can agree on a weight.

"If the weights are right [I would step in for Mike Tyson] I don't mind giving away 20 pounds," he told Offshore Poker Sites.

"It just depends on the weight because I know Jake has put on a lot of weight to fight Mike.

"Jake's not normally that big, but he's put on a lot of mass, so it depends on him, whether he's willing to lose that weight and we find some middle ground somewhere. x

"Let's see, but I've had no calls about that, so I assume they're still hoping to fight Mike, he's not going to want to take a beating before that.

"But it's KSI who has been speaking the big game and once he's taken a beating, and if I'm going to do that, I may as well bang both of them out.

"I'd take on KSI first and then knock Jake Paul out after that.

"Let's see how he looks against Mike Tyson, if he gets knocked out badly I wouldn't entertain it, but if he looks really good, then it would be worth entertaining."
