The boxing star has opened up as he prepares to fight Mike Tyson

Jake Paul has revealed he fears for America if Donald Trump loses the upcoming US election.

The boxing star is currently preparing to fight Mike Tyson, with millions of fans from all over the world expected to tune in.

A far bigger event is happening on November 5, however. Americans will decide the next president of the country, with Trump up against Kamala Harris.

The election is on a knife-edge. Some polls have Trump as the favourite, others Harris. It is, simply put, too close to call.

Paul has a good relationship with Trump. Both the 27-year-old, and his brother Logan, have endorsed the Republican candidate.

Now, speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, the boxing star has opened up on the election and the potential consequences if Trump loses.

He says he fears their rights to 'freedom of speech' will be lost if Harris secures her place in the White House.

And the boxing icon is also worried about immigration, too.

“I think America will fall, the borders will open, tens of millions of illegal criminals and people from other countries will pour in," he said.

“And I think freedom of speech will probably be taken away from us in a secret, tricky way that we can’t track technically.”

Paul and Tyson will fight next month. And the boxing icon, like his younger opponent, is also a Trump fan.

Speaking last month, the 58-year-old insisted Trump would beat Harris to become president - while also describing him as a 'good man'.

"Trump is going to win. Yeah, it'd be nice if he wins, yeah," he was quoted as saying.

"I have my reasons [for wanting him to win]... He is just a good man.

"Listen, I don't agree with all his s**t. Nobody agrees with all my s**t, but you know, they [are] good people. No one is perfect in this world.

"Everybody got their s**t, you know."

Paul, meanwhile, has split opinion ever since his first boxing fight back in 2020.

In Tyson, he will be facing one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

Many want Paul to lose. If he does, then his chances of a comeback will be remote. Losing to a man old enough to be his father would certainly represent a hammer blow.

But Jake's girlfriend, Juuta Leerdam, insists her other half has what it takes to consign Tyson to defeat.

“The progression Jake has made is not normal,” she said.

“Other athletes, they make a few percentage points of progression a year, if at all. Jake makes so much in a year.

“So I do trust his skills. I’m very proud of him. But of course, Mike Tyson could give one punch that is harder than Mike has ever thrown — and it will be lights out for Jake.”
