The Gypsy King's future in the sport is currently up in the air

Eddie Hearn approves of a potential rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko, despite the Gypsy King recently losing to Oleksandr Usyk for a second time.

Fury was beaten by Usyk via unanimous decision in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last month as he suffered the second professional defeat of his career.

The 36-year-old then kept his cards close to his chest when quizzed on his future, with Fury refusing to indicate what he'd decide to do.

In the short time since his defeat to Usyk, there has been speculation that the Briton could engage Klitschko in a rematch.

The pair previously fought all the way back in November 2015, with Fury declared winner by unanimous decision.

Klitschko retired two years later, though the 48-year-old has signalled he's interested in a return to the ring despite hanging up his gloves.

Hearn has regularly championed a potential showdown between Fury and Anthony Joshua, with the latter on his books.

But the boxing promoter, speaking to Betfred, believes a bout between Klitschko and Fury would 'make sense'.

“Wladimir’s bright enough to make his own decision," he said.

"I think he’s had a long time out of the ring since the Anthony Joshua fight, but he’s kept himself in tremendous physical condition.

"It wasn’t as if Wladimir looked terrible in that fight. He almost beat AJ.

"However, I do believe it would be difficult to come back, but he’s a very strong man, a great man and whatever decision he makes, I’m sure it’ll be the right one for him.”

He then added: "He has to pick the right style to take on.

"A fight with Tyson Fury could make sense, but he got beat, so we’ll have to see.”

Meanwhile, Fury's own promoter, Frank Warren, recently opened up on the boxing star and his future in the sport.

Warren told the Daily Star that he wouldn't be interfering when it comes to his fighter - and that Fury has earned the right to decide what he does next.

"I will not be picking up the phone and asking Tyson Fury to fight again," he said.

"If opportunities come my way for him they will be passed on, but there will be no advice from me on whether or not Tyson should take them.

"I haven’t spoken to him yet about an Anthony Joshua fight and I will only do so if he comes to me and says he wants to get in the ring with him."

Warren then made it clear that all he wants is for Fury to be 'happy' after so many years of action.

"My only hope is for Tyson to be happy and content with life," he continued.

"If he is then I’d be prouder than you can ever imagine.

"If he does decide to box again then I’ll support him 100 per cent. It’s a decision for him, his wife Paris and their family."
