Doctors have started to dissect the "alien mummies" discovered in Nazca, Peru in 2019, which has revealed an incredible find amongst the eerie collection of bones and metal objects, shown in a new video.

The mummified creatures - also referred to as the "Nazca Tridactyls" - were picked apart to unveil a "light metal" implant within one of the bodies' palms, a reporter involved in the medical dissection said.

A short video has shown an expert delicately dissecting the metal structure from the creature's disfigured palm with surgical tools.

Mexican Navy forensic doctor Dr Jose Zalce Benitez told the Daily Mail: "It is a very complex metal alloy that requires special knowledge and techniques to be able to achieve it with such quality and purity."

Zalce continued: "This tridactyl hand, from which I obtained the metal, does not belong to any of the bodies presented at the Mexican Congress.

"This hand is part of a series of loose pieces that belong to the place where the tridactyl bodies of Peru were found."

The same doctor gave evidence before Mexico's Congress last year when two so-called alien corpses were presented.

The bodies, with elongated heads and disfigured hands, played a central part in the Mexican hearing, which gathered a substantial amount of media attention.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Mexican journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan said that these creatures date back approximately 1,000 years.

However, after their discovery, a majority of experts argued that the discovery was fraudulent, and the objects were dolls composed of human and animal anatomies.

Additionally, scientists ruled out the possibility that they had extra-terrestrial origins.

Now, the new video has provided a greater insight into the smaller figures.

The reporter involved in the forensic investigation said that doctors had rehydrated the hand very carefully so that they were able to dissect the specimen more easily.

Fernando Correa Dominguez said: "They did not see any moisture inside the hand, [only] dehydrated skin tissue was observed inside the tendons and muscles."

The doctor explained that the scientists were implementing a forensic technique to ensure the tissue was protected and degradation of the material was prevented, using a "special serum" to rehydrate corpses, which is often adopted by experts at the FBI, for example.

Forensic archaeologist Dr Flavio Estrada criticised those who continued to believe the creatures were aliens, stating that it was "totally a made-up story" and the "corpses" were just dolls.
