Zara Tindall ran with her horse Class Affair as she competed at the Badminton Horse Trials on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old was pictured trotting with her horse during the inspection on day one of the Badminton Trials in South Gloucestershire.

Princess Anne’s daughter wore classic white jeans and a t-shirt paired with a blue button-up blazer.

She accessorised her outfit with orange-framed glasses, a black watch and white and black trainers.

Zara wore her short, blonde bob down in a straight style and kept her make-up look minimal with bronzed cheeks and pink lips.

The royal, who shares three children with former rugby star Mike Tindall, looked in good spirits as she held her auburn horse horse by the reigns.

Princess Anne’s daughter is a keen equestrian and won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Zara's appearance at the Badminton Horse Trials comes after she attended the Royal Horse Show in Windsor last week.

King Charles also appeared at the Berkshire event and was snapped giving his niece Zara a warm hug.

Judi James, a body language expert, described the bond between Charles and Zara as the “sweetest and most uncomplicated” in the Firm, according to the Daily Express.

She said: “Unlike many of the people in the King's life, Zara seems to treat her uncle with unfiltered fondness and he seems to respond in kind.

“Their public displays of affection (PDAs) are legendary and the body language signals suggest they are always led by Zara, who seems untroubled by protocol, status or even Charles's customary avoidance of any touch rituals in public that go beyond a handshake.

“She seems purely keen to show everyone how determined she is to give this sometimes solitary and reflective man a hug.”

Queen Camilla is also expected to attend the final day of the Badminton Horse Trials on Sunday to present the trophy to the winner.

The Badminton Horse Trials was founded in 1949 by the 10th Duke of Beaufort to prepare British horse riders for the Olympic Games.

The late Queen Elizabeth II also presented the Badminton trophy on the event’s 50th anniversary in 1999.
