The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's timing with their statement was 'interesting'
Prince Harry offered a subtle olive branch to his father King Charles with his recent statement on the Israel-Hamas war, according to a royal commentator.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement about the war on Wednesday, after both King Charles and Prince William released their own earlier in the day.
On Wednesday evening, Harry and Meghan released the following statement: "At The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, we stand against all acts of terrorism and brutality."
The statement was printed underneath the title "With Heavy Hearts", and was posted on the Archewell Foundation website.
The Sussexes continued: "We are supporting our partners and organizations on the frontlines in Israel to provide the urgent aid needed, and to help all innocent victims of this unconscionable level of human suffering."
Harry's timing was key, according to a royal author, because he didn't want to overshadow his father or his brother.
Royal Historian Gareth Russell claimed it was "interesting" to see the duke wait until after his father commented on the war.
Russell told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement of solidarity with the people of Israel too.

"I think it is interesting that this time, both of the King's sons waited until the King as Head of State made a comment on that."
"This is a situation his majesty is extremely concerned about, and he has asked to be kept actively updated," the spokesperson said.
"His thoughts and prayers are with all of those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones, but also those actively involved as we speak."
